It was just a bad weekend. 3 GM cars had issues!

Julie's car broke <45 miles after picking it up. I'm asusming the wastegate isn't actually broken and they broke the wireharness because it was giving a low volts CEL.

Bill's GTO broke the bolt that holds the rear sway bar to the subframe. We had to remove the exhaust and drop the subframe to weld in another nut then getting everything to line up with a PITA since there wasn't much room to work. I'm assuming that when he upgraded to poly bushings and the bolt didn't catch right on the nut and the weld poped the bolt lose and over time it just broke. That was about 6 hours of work to fix and only ended up costing $2 bolt and nut.

Julie's friend has a Colbalt SS/SC that lost all power. Nothing worked. We pulled the interior apart trying to find a fuse or fuseable link in the positive side since the battery is in the rear. No fuse found. After a **** load of debugging we finally figured out there was a bad ground. Eventually traced that to the trunk. Made our own grounding kit and the car magically got power. Went to start it and all it would do is crank. We check fuel pressue and it was good and then checked for spark and didn't have any. No CEL or anything. The Cobalt forum is worthless for tech info and we search forever to find little help. We were thinking that since the car didn't have power any more the keys were out of sync but we followed the steps to reprogram but it wouldn't work.... We started the car at 8AM on Sunday... took an afternoon break and watched Fast Five and grilled steaks, then went to work again... got home at 1AM with the car still not working. After more searching I found that they have crank position sensor issues and I'm really hoping that is all it is. Oh, his trans mount was also missing a bolt!

I know I'm paying someone to install my 4.10s and replace the bearings while I'm there because shimming it is an art to get it right. It isn't hard, I just never did it and don't have the patience to do it multiple times to get it right. My guess would be about $400 for labor.
