My dad and I were never close until his first battle with cancer. Never really had a father/son relationship. Still really dont have that, he's more like a friend.

i was kinda the same way. my father was never really around that much. being that he was in the air force most of the time, and was always TDY or overseas while the rest of the family stayed in the states. But, after he retired, we started talking more.

we did have a big blow out a about 6 or 7 months ago. back when i started posting about me being kicked out of the house. but, after that, we've gotten along great. hell, he tells me all the time i'm the only one that keeps him sane in the house.

My dad and I used to be tight when she was single lol. But ever since he met his current girlfriend (6 or 7 years ago) he's changed. But I mean I guess that's what happens.

We still have a good father/son relationship but we are a lot more distant. But hopefully I can get us a trip or something for his bday in June and kind of have an old days hangout and do some fun stuff.

But I am partially to blame for the distance since I've been staying at Stephs pretty much full time lately. But it's because it's more quiet, I can go to bed earlier, I save money and can buy my own food without worrying about it being in the way or getting eaten.

I dunno. We talk every day. But only for a couple mins. The most time I've spent with him was Tuesday when he came for the full duration of the time with my daughter and it was like old times talking to him. That's what I miss haha.

His gf doesn't like me/is immature and is always bitching to him and ****. Prob has a lot to do with it. At least I think so.

I get a long with my dad, sometimes. Every now and again it always ends up with us getting into a shouting match, and me packing my **** and leaving for a few days for us to both cool off. I think its because we are both unemployed but he seems to be hitting him harder then I though. I think he is just frustrated that he hasn't found anything.

I love my dad, get along with the guy great, I can make fun of him like I do my friends and he'll fire back and joke around too. He's helped me a lot growing up, and still does if I ever need him. I've never relied on my parents but he'll get me a random flight here or hotel there cause hes got a kajillion miles and points from work and the company planes too. It just sucks I dont see him as much - never really did honestly. He's an international consultant and was a Lt Col in the Army until I was in HS. He's in DC right now for the week, he'll be home this weekend but he goes back to Kuwait for 2 months, comes home for a week or two and then hes off to SouthEast Asia for 6-7 months straight.

We chill out and get beer when hes around, I've stayed in from nights out to chill with him and bs, cause I dont see him much. Guys an animal.

I had some cars come in, one from MD and the other last minute cause he might be selling it and isnt "ok" in the condition its in. To think I'm already booked into June

All that work is done lol, place is practically brand new....and 4 times the size of the last one
