the price and the condition pasted on cl. I am ready to

make instant purchase.My mode of payment would be in CERTIFIED CHECK
and i will arrange for a local pick up as soon as you get

the check, because that is the only inconvenient means for me and due
to my work frame i can not be able to get there and i

promise everything will go smoothly.I really wish to be there to check
out the item but i don't have chance cause am very busy

person (US MARINE). Concerning the pick up, i will arrange for it
after you receive the payment and it clears... Pls get back

to me with below info so that i can proceed with the payment
immediately if you are selling to me.

That seems a little more legit...I'd only be worried with him having your address.

dante, its the perfect scam. they are preying on you being a good american by saying they are a marine. certified checks can be faked. your bank will give you immediate availibility on your account, clear the check and it all looks good to you. then the bank finds that its a fake only after it goes through the process a few days or a week after it looks cleared in your account. the bank where the check is drawn from has 7-10 days to actually make the funds available to your bank Dante.

if its legit, propose that you will accept paypal. paypal gives you a level of security that the funds are real.

Yea I just wish someone from here or a forum would be interested..One thing I wish CL had was feedback kinda like ebay does with powerseller etc, to put me more at ease. I mean of course I want to reply with SOLD, but I dont want it to backfire on me

Go with Angelo's advice. Don't do it and suggest Paypal. They are thinking of more and more ways to scam people it seems like.

That is the typical scam. Not sure why people would do anything via mail on CL... mailing stuff is what eBay is for. Impersonating a soldier is a feloney I believe also. Law inforcement would love to see that email.
