Tell me about it! I'd love to drive that car!
Speaking of M cars.. dropping mine off at the local Indy shop Saturday for a barrage of fixes and maintenance. The car has been a tank and hasn't given me one issue so far. Starts right up in the mornings, pulls to 8k with tenacity, etc. but it's time to freshen up the mechanicals a little bit. -valve adjustment -oil change -trans fluid change -fuel filter change -brake fluid flush -alignment -wheel bearing where the impact in the road hit -idler pullies -realign those headlight lens covers that I screwed up -state inspection I would like to replace the water pump, tstat, starter, alternator, fuel pump and all the leftover Bremi coil plugs too just to ensure that everything on the car is new mechanically for another 100k. Thankfully, I've been attacking things here and there so the 100k is already partially done. Once this is all done and everything is squared away, it'll be time to mod it. Maintenance must always come first though. The more I think about things, the more I just want to go the easy way out with the car. StopTech Brake Kit, KW V2 coilovers, ESS VT-455 S/C, Euro headers and cats, reinforced subframe, ZCP wheels, CSL trunk, CSL diffuser, CSL front bumper. Easy.

So the last two weekends, the car has been in the shop getting odds and ends replaced, serviced and fixed at 100k. All major maintenance has now been done with the car passing inspection too now.
That laundry list I had posted before has been completed. The car is running as great as ever and I'm praying to not get a speeding ticket haha. Now that all maintenance has been performed, I've ordered the following parts for next weekend CSL wheels Michelin Pilot Super Sports in staggered width of 245 front and 275 rear Bilstein PSS10 coilovers I was going to go with KW V2's, but have had several guys including the local shop that tracks and DDs their M3s tell me that the PSS10s ride better. Since they're the same price I have nothing to really lose. Also going to swap out the fuel pump for a fresh unit and have all four brake calipers rebuilt with fresh seals and reprinted black. Slotted rotors and ss lines with stop tech street performance pads will be on too. Pics will come so be on the lookout. Oh and I got rid of the DONTSLIP plate now that I have a RWD. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For the price, ($750) it's hard to beat springs and shocks...especially when they're from companies like Eibach and Bilstein. Bilstein claiming that they've matched the shocks to these springs is also nice to hear too as it seems like a complete streetable kit. Shipping took 2 days to get here in Charlotte from Massachusetts. I plan on installing these over the next two weeks (holidays) and posting a review. I'm currently running OEM suspension with 102k on it, so this will be a nice refresh. I know I said coil overs, but decided that living in downtown Charlotte wouldn't be a good environment for them. Just being realistic. Deal on the CSLs fell through. Brakes are being shipped to me Thursday.

You change your plans on this car more than you did on any of your others... I'm glad you're not going coilovers though
![]() I'm having way more fun driving my POS than I was with the Evo. I'm not worried about wadding it up or breaking stuff. It seems to break no matter what I do, but I can afford it this time Never driven a fwd car in anger before, it's fun. Still jealous of your M3

Haha, that's great! I really like your project and guarantee that it's going to be worth it all in the end. Ahh FWD. the only cars I have ever wrecked have been FWD. . I always react wrong with them at the limit because its not natural to me. . Thanks, I'm really excited for the refreshed suspension and upgraded brakes. The sticking calipers have been slowing the car down and robbing fuel economy. I need rear tires at this point. Everything else has been buttoned up so once I get my bonus check and my daily, I can drop the car off at the shop for subframe reinforcement and headers/tune. Still very interested in a supercharger too and some more CSL goodies. First things came first: fix everything, upgrade when possible, ensure the mechanicals are all strong and then build up the foundation of the vehicle before adding power. To tackle this I bought a lower mileage working set of four that are going to all be freshly rebuilt and have upgraded bushing pins. Coupled with ss lines, pads, slotted rotors and fresh superblue fluid and the factory brakes will be maximized. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Suspension installed!
Unlike the factory suspension that I had on there, this one doesn't roll in the turns nearly as much. The car is tighter, the handling is improved noticeably, the ride quality has changed but here's how I'd describe it. Below 40mph where a shock is usually in its low speed valving area of the shock curve, these give more feedback about the road surface without being harsh or overly noisy. I can tell what the road quality is without it reaching my seat and being uncomfortable. In a turn at these speeds the shocks are there and feel nice and tight. Once you get on the highway, the high speed portion of the shocks curve takes over an this is where the suspension is very smooth. The road surface isn't communicated as much and bumps etc are softer in the cabin. This reminds me of how a proper OEM level suspension should be for a sports car but with more roll stiffness than you would usually get. I really think this kit might be the ticket for most people looking to upgrade beyond the factory setup for their DD. It won't set track records but should be capable enough for a beginner starting off at HPDE events. Also worth mentioning is how light the components were. The coil springs and shocks were really light. I'm going to have to compare that to the stock components to see if there is any weight loss. Steering has also slightly improved. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lighting isn't the best in the garage, so I tried all the angles to give you an idea. It's fairly even, with the front a touch higher.

Here was the car on factory suspension for comparison. I ran it through a filter to try to separate the carbon black from the tire more.

After measuring the ride height from the center of the wheel to the wheel well, the kit has lowered the car roughly .4" up front and .7" out back vs. the factory suspension. Talk about subtle. Pretty nice increase in handling out of it with these shocks without losing any real bump travel. Not bad, that's ideally what you want out of a spring and shock combo for ride comfort and performance.

Thank you, I'm really happy with the purchase. I'm looking to take the car out to HPDE's and learn how to drive better so keeping this car near factory level is better.
I have a CSL rear diffuser on order and want to get the front bumper and trunk lid one of these days but I've run out of condo sale money so it'll all have to happen later on down the road. My new DD is a 2013 C350 coupe. It's the perfect DD for a single guy with no kids. I got 32.2 mpg and 470+ miles out of my tank on the trip to PA for thanksgiving! Ryan got to drive it for a little. Really good car....but it's no M and that's perfectly ok with me .I got my new brakes in yesterday along with a complete OEM Bluetooth retrofit with the absolute newest components to put in the car since my used TCU fried itself. I also picked up a newer generation DICE IPod controller too The brake upgrade is: Stoptech ss lines, pads, slotted rotors, stock calipers that will have the bushings upgraded and rebuilt with fresh seals. Should stop like a mofo! ![]() What's next? CSL wheels with PSS tires Reinforced subframe Headers and a tune Complete cooling system overhaul Also my battery died while I was away, pretty sure the M knew I was cheating on it ;). So I'll be putting in a standard replacement since weight loss isn't important on this car to me. Really can't wait to hear that S54 rev again. The Benz is sweet but no comparison.
