Hey guys. I hated the notebook. It's a good movie.. but I hated it. Probably because I have no emotions. Marina accuses me of being a robot. She's probably right.

+1 Seriously, the M3 is the first car that's ever been able to stand up to my abuse. 1 winter in the 540 and the bushings are already trashed ;) I'm going to put urethane bushings in there and ruin that cushy quiet ride... actually, I'm going to sell it and buy an M5 like I wanted to begin with.

Ryan,

The care and feeding is expensive. They have 2 distinct issues that can happen and each costs ~$5K to repair (much cheaper DIY). The vanos pump can explode sending shards of metal through the engine destroying it. It's no E36 M3 but a 400HP bmw has an allure all of it's own. You saw how much balls the 540 has. That's only 295 HP ;)

You're right but this one is nearly perfect. And in Lititz. I can go visit the old stomping grounds.

I'm somewhat serious but I don't know if I want to come up with the differential in price between the 540 and the m5. The 540 is a reaaaaally nice car and is a bit more reliable.

on a side note.. my dad a while ago found out how finicky BMWs are about their batterys. It was just a little low so it wouldn't start lol.

i would just keep the 540.. you have the M3 lol. If anything i would just find a newer M3.

The M3 is here to stay for now. I've sank like $8K into modding it. I've basically rebuilt a lot of the car and it's rust free top and bottom. It doesn't even have any interior rattles yet. Now that I've got the alignment issues sorted out, it's very stable at ultra high speeds again.

Yeah the solenoid won't hold if the voltage is too low so it won't crank slowly like other cars, it will just click at you. Probably some kind of protective mechanism. The lower the voltage the more current stuff like the ignition will pull which may cause things to explode.
