one thing that has offset the spike in price is the difficulty of potential buyers to get loans for them, but all in all from what i've seen things have held pretty steady in the recent past, even as the cars age. ------------------------------------- as for an update... nothing too exciting but i am making slow and steady progress... the new firewall blanket finally arrived today after weeks of waiting, and my eastwood rust encapsulator also showed up so i used that tonight to coat over the surface rust that was under the battery tray. pete also came out tonight and helped me with drilling out a few holes on my exhaust manifold so it officially fits properly for the first time as of tonight. the more i look at the engine bay, the more i'm considering painting the whole thing. i'm going to try to talk to john (sostock92) about it tomorrow since he did his recently and was trying to convince me to do mine. both inner fenders are nearly bare right now so it wouldnt be too much extra work to hit them with some paint, but i only want to do it if it looks damn good when i'm finished. not trying to do any halfassed job that looks like crap. oh, and i pulled the dash off tonight... found some more crappy wiring for the alarm and the greddy boost gauge back there. also found a ton of nasty ash under the center console that must have spilled out of the ash tray or something. its gross and i need to get a vacuum in there sometime soon. luckily the car doesnt really smell like smoke so once i get it on the road i'm sure it'll be fine. its pretty wild buying a used car like this, its a big mystery. i also found a ton of receipts jammed under the center console... golden dawn chinese restaurant, great american diner, chickie and petes, and so on... haha. thats about it... i have some new photos but i'm too tired to put them up right now.

I'm sure a 2JZ would pull a premium a week before Racewars.

Just spent some quality time over with the Sup.... now that I'm looking at getting the engine bay painted it was no holds barred on getting everything out of the bay possible...
I'm not going to go into detail about the AC line removal, but lets just say I'm still alive, I think. After a bit of excitement with the AC lines at the firewall I proceeded to spend another hour unbracketing them from about 4 different spots under the chassis and whatnot, its like a big puzzle. I also got some of the wiring harness off of the inner fender, but I have yet to figure out my technique for removing the wiring along the front of the engine bay, it sits at the very front of either frame rail and also goes across the rad support. Thats the only thing left in the engine bay now but I figured I'd leave that for next time. I also finally figured out how to remove the brake booster... there's the 4 nuts, plus a bonus nut that you probably wouldnt see unless someone told you about it. I had to drop the steering rack to get it, but once I figured it out it wasnt a big deal. I also pulled the clutch master and reservoir off the firewall. So basically... the only thing in the engine bay is the engine sitting pretty in the middle. Both inner fenders are bare as hell and so is the firewall. Still needs a bit of cleaning and then hopefully I can get some nice fresh paint in there. I really didn't expect to go this length with the car right off the bat, but I guess with me I shouldnt be surprised... this is just how I do things. I'm realllly hoping to have it on the road this summer so I can enjoy it some, and it should really look nice by the time its all back together. Definitely going to need some assistance from Rich at Fuzion Auto reassembling, so looking forward to working with him on that and getting my baby all wrapped up sometime soon. For all your performance needs, check out Fuzion Auto **This message has been brought to you by the Keep Rich Happy To Get Bryans Car Back Together fund.**

treating the surface rust... wire wheeled, sanded, scuffed, wiped down with lacquer thinner, and then put 2 coats of eastwood rust encapsulator on...
![]() finished product ![]() here's the bay now... there are some bolts that are in their original spots just so i can keep things straight, but other than that and the wiring harness running at the front of the bay, its stripped... ![]() took out fmic, ac condensor and lines, radiator... ![]() previous owner did a custom clutch pedal mod? ![]() I've got a ton more photos here... http://bryantroll.com/other/supra/062508/index.htm#53 Its mostly for my own documentation purposes but if you want to check out what its all about feel free to browse the gallery.

At the same time, I could have done a lot less to the car and gotten it running faster, but I always take the approach like "well, while I'm in here, might as well..." and I'm also kind of a perfectionist which is hard with a 14 year old car with a previous owner. It'll be pretty close to perfect when I'm done with her though, just give me some time
