I'm planning to try and make my first meet ever tonight. So just for clarification for a new guy.....EXACTLY where is this meet to be held. Is it just generally in the Lowe's parking lot off of 38? Any particular part of the parking lot? Are there parts of the lot that the Lowe's folks don't want us hanging out at? They are still open @7:30-8pm right?

Does everyone kinda group up by cliques? Or by car type? Or just how does this work. I've expressed previously in this thread my reluctance to be hanging out with a bunch of 20 somethings or younger. Nothing against them, just awkward. I'm too old. With that said, will there be a group of older guys with newer cars? And if there are/is a group like that, do they tend to show up for most meets? Will they be there? On time?

Sorry if I seem a bit neurotic about it all, but I've never been involved with such a thing before and I just want to know a little bit about what to expect. Since I'm not from around these parts originally, I still have a bit of, I guess, fear of the unknown. So just a little bit of information about what exactly I can expect when I stop by would be most appreciated.

Also, I'm assuming that there will be plenty of music being played. IF that's the case, then I'd prefer to be nearer to the metalheads than the rap and hip hop. Nothing against it, just not my thing.

^haha its not like high school.
the meet is at the loading section side of lowes. show up around or after 8:30. you will see the cars scattered.
there is groups of friends I guess. but a lot of guys know random people like myself.
there is some older guys always there. usually random people that show up.
by the way, if you bring a dog, almost anyone will talk to you hahhaa

Perfect! I guess that's what I was afraid of that it was gonna be high schoolish. So that puts me at ease a bit. Thanks for that.

And that's exactly the type of crap that I don't want to be a part of. I guess then that it was a good thing that I drove by, saw nothing but kids, and kept on going.

Anyone know of another site similar to this that has maybe some higher standards required for membership?

no one on this site is doing that crap... any reputable person with a decent car doesn't take part in that stuff. I as well don't want to be a part of it, it really is ruining the meets fast and i'm all for trying to move the meet so we can get away from these people for a few months.

and if the cops came id be glad to open up a public youtube video showing the idiots who were doing this stuff

I hope no one is suprised by this. When there is a car meet, people spread the word. The longer the meet is going the more and more people that hear, and the more and more young slow piece of crap ricer kids that show up. It will happen to every meet, and it is everywhere.

and no one is surprised most of us have had our share of meets ruined by ricers (ie philly, bensalem, best buy, fudruckers, and etc.), but, pay no matter the fact its happened before,... it pisses me off every time this starts, because it marks the end of a good time & more work for the people who take the time to set up these meets and get the word out.

Sounds like we need to get a private parking lot or garage. Privately owned, have every car throw in $1 every meet to pay for property taxes. This way, since its privately owned you deny whoever you want and kick out whoever you want.
