I'm not sure whether I agree that OCing at the sonic meet would be unwise. I can definitely see the argument for not scaring people and causing what may or may not turn into a "scene" but on the other hand I have to respect a person's personal decisions provided they're not breaking the law.

I personally wouldn't choose to OC because, for one, I don't have the right type of holster and haven't taken any retention classes (which I feel are extremely important for someone who chooses to OC a decent amount of the time). I also would rather relax and not have to think about informing idiots on PA's laws or dealing with the cops while I check out the cars and eat some grub.

With that said, if I was more comfortable OCing and that's the style of carry I was used to, I wouldn't change my daily routine just in an effort to appease any ignorant anti-gun idiots who might be attending. If weapons make people afraid that's their problem, not mine. People are scared of lots of things... **** some retard on Maury Povich a few years ago was absolutely terrified to the point of tears whenever she saw a pickle. If I enjoy pickles should I only eat them at home because they might scare someone? I know that's a pretty ridiculous and exaggerated analogy but you could apply it to anything that people have irrational fears of - spiders, snakes, pitbulls, certain races, etc. etc. etc... Point is, people shouldn't be expected to change their behaviors (or style of dress, or hair color, or skin color) just because other people might get scared or offended. That's how a free society is supposed to work.

I'm sure you realize this, but as silly as your post appears, as you can see crime happens ANYWHERE.

(also, just an FYI, the "security guard" at the church shooting was just a private citizen with a concealed weapons permit acting on behalf of the church. Without her decision to carry a firearm to church that day, this event could have ended with literally 100s more casualties than there actually were. That woman saved literally hundreds of lives by her actions that day.)

Although we are well within our rights to openly carry in PA, part of being a "responsible" gun owner is knowing the appropriate time and place to OC.

That responsibly doesn't stop at being safe with the weapon. It also includes being respectful of the people around you. If you will be at an event where its obvious that others are uncomfortable being around hardware, just cc the weapon if you are able. Nobody is asking that we permanently change any routine we may have.

This is asking a lot. Again, I will be CC'ing, but the general populous seem to be uncomfortable with OC'ing nearly everywhere. That's my personal experience and that of friends.

Oh I know. My bestfriend that I posted who had the issue with OC'ing and the cops taking gun. Hecarries his gun while at church. Not openly, but he still has it. And when is brother is in country, he carries to church as well. I feel sorry for someone trying to start ish at that church with those 2 there. Especially since his brother is ex Special Forces and trains private security in Iraq and other sandy places

just had to go and mention zombies didn't you...

now I'm gonna have to OC my AR15 to sonic, you know, just in case.

Actually it turns out I might not make it if they don't switch to the rain date because a tuning spot on sunday at 11am just opened up down at IAG due to a customer canceling at the last minute. I was supposed to get tuned this month but they had so many in-house projects that they took up all the tuning slots so I was gonna have to wait until next month when Jorge flies out again. I already have almost 4000 miles on the new motor and it's getting harder by the day to keep it out of boost (as requested by my tuner until the final tune).

If ****'s poppin at sonic and the tune doesn't take too long I'll probably stop by on my way back up north (IAG is in MD).

thanks dude, IAG is a great shop. I have more faith in them and Jorge than probably any other shop I've ever dealt with. Not to knock any of the other guys of course.

Being a responsible gun owner also means knowing your rights, and helping to educate those that do not.

My screen name on PAFOA is same as here.

BTW, Alex and anyone else that is going to "knock" anyone out for OC'ing, you are nothing but punks blowing hot air over a car forum. Try to take a gun from someone that has been through retention training, and we'll see how that works out for you. You'll be lucky to get away without being clubbed in the head.

Friggin hippies.

I really am enjoying this thread. Honestly. Great conversation. Sprinkled with some moronic thought processes. But those individuals cannot be blamed for how they think. They are simply replying with what they had been taught, although it is false and not what the law states they are being educated in this thread.

I just love how none of mods touched this thing with a 15 foot pole lol.
