Thanks guys,

Yah Mike got a great deal on this G50. So I picked it up. Its been proven to make some good power pump gas. There is an exhaust leak in the manifold close to the waste-gate flange. It needs to be welded, very small but noticeable.

I installed a cold air intake pipe today also, moving the air filter into the fender well. Dropped the inlet temperature 30 degrees. Yayyy.

Took the car out for some more street tuning, car feels very strong. I have an issue with boost though. Boost gauge shows 26psi falling to 25psi to redline, DSMlink with GM 3bar map sensor shows 26psi spike falling to 20psi at redline. Sooo witch to believe.

Side note, I love dsmlink..

Excuse the multicolored couplers. Trying to get all black ones, after I'm sure the set up works correctly.

Well...****. Its still around, still not being driven and still broken. Typical. Got the car together ran okay. But was chasing dumb issues and a smoking issue under boost and idle small missfires. Pulled the turbo apart found the turbo coked up with oil so figured I would rebuild the turbo. Removed the PCV valve system, reworked the coolant overflow tank, redid all coolant lines and vacuum lines, new K&N Airfilter, upgraded to ECMlink V3, installed GM 3bar and GM IAT sensors. Also installed and fitted a new front bumper FINALLLYY..

Reinstalled the turbo, helicoiled all threads on the turbo, and replaced oil feed and return lines with new lines, started the car let it idle and run for a couple minutes took it for a ride and the vehicle continued to smoke. Figured the turbo was toast and sold it, and picked up a PTE5031RE ball bearing 50trim.

As I pulled the turbo of I found the oil in cylinder 4 exhaust port. Upon further inspection I found the valve guide of cylinder 4 had moved up and destroyed the valve stem seal. I pulled the head thinking it was needing a simple rebuild and as I pulled the cams to disassemble I found one cam bearing on the HKS 272 exhaust cam wiped out. The head is toast. So I had another spare head I think is a 1g 7bolt head and apparently has already been modified to fit the 1g 6bolt block and has been sitting for close to 5 years on the shelf. So that head is at the machine shop as we speak getting checked out to make sure it okay for a rebuild.

So after sitting there and thinking well WTF...Now seems like a good time to pull the transmission and send it to TRE in Michigan for a Stage 2 rebuild. Only thing I'm unsure of is to have the center differential welded or spend the big bucks and have the center diff modified for the 4 spider center diff. For years of hard launches to come. I'm in the process of packaging it up to send it out to Jon at Team Rip.

Other than than, future purchases include, New ACT 2600, new Flywheel, New front axles, New front OEM O2 sensor, FIC 750cc injectors and new coolant lines since this new turbo is Ball bearing and requires coolant, and new oil feed, restrictor and inline filter from FP to feed this turbo proper oil.

After this it is safe to say EVERYTHING in this engine bay will be new. And it will still be breaking and letting me down just like I like it. haha. As it sits.

Honestly save the money and just do a welded center. The car just wont like a taco bell drive through. You will get use to it and its really not bad at all. And plus once you start to make 600 ish the 4 spider is questionable to last anyway so I wouldnt waste the money personally. Odd ball valve guide issue btw!!! Never seen that one before.

Thanks, Karl. I think I'm am gonna go with the welded center diff. There gonna pull it apart and inspect everything. The cars currently only going 3k miles or less a year. I'm not really worried about the extra wear on the drive train. But I guess if I really hate it I can always get a 4 spider down the road, I doubt this car will ever see 600hp even 500hp would be a miraculous. Most likely its looking right around the 400hp mark.

Yah, as for the valve guide, I have never seen that happen before either, Glad the valve didn't break off.
