But it's an external drive so it should just be a backup... right? You're not completed screwed even if it's fried. What I've done before is to buy the exact same model mechanism on ebay and swap the platters. It won't work for long afterwards, some of the data may be corrupted, and you have to do it in a super clean environment, but if you have nothing else to lose...

Take the hard drive out of the enclosure. put it in ziplock bag. put in freezer for about 12 hours. Reinstall and try it again.

I've done this multiple times to HD's with the click of death.

not really, i got more data on that harddrive then i got room on my normal laptop harddrive, trying to transfer stuff over right now to my old external, but, i think the busted one just stopped spinning, cause the time for transfer keeps getting bigger and bigger, but the bar ain't moving

yeah, whenever i take stuff apart, it never seems to work right again

morning everyone. what crappy weather it is outside. i guess its better that its raining than snowing though.

not much going on at the moment. glad that i wont have to work tomorrow since i have to go to CHOP to see my neurologist just to check in about my headache/ER episode the other week. appointment is at 1130 so it pretty much uses up my whole day work wise lol.

oh well. wont be a big deal.

hope everyone has a good day. pretty bored at work already but i hope that today speeds up like yesterday did.

Angelo you work there? My girlfriend was thinking about working there once she gets her BSN. She's just afraid she would come home and cry almost everyday which she knows I wouldn't be able to put up with.
