If it can't do that properly than every thing else is affected.
There's no smoke to indicate any internal engine damage, nor any noises from the engine out of the ordinary. Hell even my MPG seems to be the same as before even though I'm putting more load into the car to keep it going, otherwise it just doesn't keep up with traffic.

I absolutely NEVER said anything about wanting $$ for my maps. That's ridiculous.

Also, Bryan: F.U. for the Jew comment.

This is my first post here, and there will not be any others.

Welcome to week 3. So far what's been done.

Fuel filter changed, no difference

Compression test done, ~200-210 across the board, spec is 209

Spark plugs checked and re-checked, may replace

Coil Packs swapped with Evan K today as a test, no difference

Boost leak test done unsucessfully, will try again

Any new and exciting ideas? I wanted to put the car at the bottom of a river and claim insurance but my friends reminded me that **** floats.

Considering you haven't completely eliminated the boost leak, I would get it tested correctly before moving forward in your diagnostics.

unless you warped your head from overheating (which you just about ruled out since there's no smoke, good compression etc...) it sounds like a boost leak to me--vacuum being low, engine cutting out after 5800 probably because you're pegging your maf due to boost leak, hence fuel cut....

Do a proper boost leak before you waste more time troubleshooting. Bouncing off the rev limiter will cause all kinds of vibrations, you might have a pcv stuck causing you to leak into the head, or perhaps something else you're missing, loose vacuum hose etc...

symptoms sound 90% boost leak...simplest solution is most likely the right one.

the littlest boost leak can cause huge problems. try and do the test right and go from there.

I pretty much drilled into him about the boost leak test, and just visually inspecting and such. He's got my tester, and when the system was pressurized, he was having some issures. I wasn't present, so I'll let him explain, but his problem isn't like anything else I've heard.

Basically here is what happened during the boost leak test.

I installed the tester on the intake right after the MAF sensor, pre-turbo
I removed the other end of the intake where it comes into the TB and plugged the pipe, TB was left open.

The idea was to pressurize the piping from the intake to the throttle body including all of the intake/charge pipes, fmic and couplers, etc.

Started putting air into the system, heard what I think was oil bubbling in the oil pan (weird)
Around 5psi, I started to feel air coming back out of the throttle body (wtf, hows it getting into the engine)
At 12psi, oil starts to seep out of the oil cap slowly and slightly, running down the valve cover (I've never seen oil there before or traces of it after driving under hard boost before)

Needless to say the boost leak test was unsucessful, I thought about plugging the throttle body pipe back up but my friend who was helping me said that in that case it would possibly cause a closed circuit and then lead to damaging the valves because there would be compressed air in the head.

No idea what we did wrong, or what my car is doing.

This site: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/arti...et-tester.html

Says this: Remove the BOV return hose and PCV valve hose.

Wouldn't that cause a vaccum leak on it's own?

if oil was seeping from somewhere at 12psi... you may consider replacing any gaskets that are involved there. Oil bubbling in the pan under pressuire means there is air getting there past a piston.

Hook the boost leak tester up to the turbo intake...put air into the system...listen for any leaks. Once the waste gate opens it will make a crazy sounding squeaking noise. That your que that u have enough air in the system.

Boost leaks tests are very simple...should only take 10-20min total.
