Yesterday I had a limited brew out of Red Hook, a sort of Belgian wheat. Pretty freaking tasty, but nothing like Flying Fish's Dubbel

im not a fan of light beers, i usually drink thick ****, but i had this beer at nodding head because they said it was a rare german beer, it was so weird, it was really tarty, and after that it just had no flavor, not bitterness or that carbonated after taste. i recommend trying it once, i thought it was pretty good, had a low alcohol content.

from their site
Ich bin ein Berliner Weisse

rare and unusual German-Style Wheat Beer... NOT a Heffe Weizen... a tart flavor, light body and low alcohol (3.5%ABV) add up to one very refreshing beer... served with just a dash of traditional woodruff syrup

heres some reviews, apparently people were dissapointed but still gave it a good rating, it was neon yellow which apparently not normal, it did kind of remind me of champagne because it was light.

i wouldn't call it either rare or unusual, at least not the style

a berliner weisse falls under the sour ale category... which happens to be one of my favorite styles of beer. low in alcohol, little tart and citrus taste... ****ing awesome style of beer

In the past few weeks, i've consumed some Saranac Pale Ale, Harpoon Oktoberfest, Fat Tire, Olde Saratoga Lager and some samples at the Ommegang Brewery tour in upstate New York. I stopped at Super Saver Liquors in the 31 circle near Pennington, NJ yesterday on the way home from work. If you have never been there, I highly recommend it. They have one of the better selections i've seen in the area. Only place i've been able to find Zywiec Porter.

^^ Try Weyerbacjer's Slam Dunkel. Nothing insanely spectacular, but still a pretty tasty bottle. I'll be downing another shortly.

Best brew house ever quite possibly!

I passed up some Flying Dog (only cause I've had it prior) for a 4 of Dogfish Head Imperial 90minute IPA. The first one sketched me out a bit, but the next few were incredible, ya know, if your in to IPA's.
