Best of 56.283,
Pax= 47.390

Right behind Barry. I'm gunning for u guys. It took me a while to adjust from wide drift driving to slower into the corner faster out and tighter AutoX style but i got the hang of it. Had a fun time.

H-Stock is pretty tough, and well in most instinces the top guys, most guys aren't even on street tires. They all use either Kumho or Hoosier r-compound tires as in pretty much all of the stock classes.

i thought it was a great day, although a frustrating one. based on how i felt out there versus my times, i really wanted to hit a 52.5 but my last run was totally out of sync and really choppy... i was soooo frustrated after that and would have killed for one or two more runs to get it right.
thats the thing i've found about autoxing... its really addicting and fun, but its always frustrating that you cant get more laps in to really perfect the course.

p.s. george... where are the vids?

Once you have been doing it long enough, sometimes your first run on the course will be your fastest. It really is amazing how fast you can be right out of the box after doing it numerous times. You all are making me jelous that I didn't make the drive. God I can't wait for autocross season to start again. Maybe I will trek out to Atco or wherever in 2 weeks. We'll see.

so you think 4 or 6 runs is plenty for the day? i'm always wanting more. for example this time around...

1st run... decent, but knew i could go faster in one section and be a little tighter around the cones... 56.0
2nd run... felt good but still needed to up my speed in the first section of the course... 53.3
3rd run... going well until i spun out at the end of the first straight... 60something?
4th run... dont know what happened but i got off line and out of sync early on and it threw me off the entire run... still got a 54.5 somehow but it felt like absolute garbage.

that type of thing has happened at each autox, somehow leaving me wanting a couple more laps... this was my 4th autox and i do feel more comfortable out there now, but i guess i still have a ways to go.

I usually run with the NEPA SCCA Region and we usually get 8 - 10 runs per event. I will have to let you guys know when our events are next year. It will be a little drive for some of you, but totally worth it.

Now for the eye opener. When I run with Susquehanna or ASCC, we usually will only have 3 run. 1st run is a baseline, smoothen everything out for run 2, and hammer down for run 3. That is all usually. We get so many cars for one of those events it is wicked.

yeah the other times i've gone to phillyscca and also south jersey scca we got 5-6 runs, but there were 170 cars at this event so i'm sure that had an affect on things.

Detroit Region runs street tire classes for the stock classes, so those of us with only one set of tires don't have to run with the race tired competitors - i presume the PAX for a stret tired h-stock car would be even more favorable than a race-tired PAX.

the two H-stock cars taht did beat me were both on race tires
