Monday night after work was as beautiful as New Jersey ever gets.
Chest high waves, offshore winds, and glassy barrels. Surfed with two friends for two hours in orange and red water from reflecting one of the most saturated sunsets I've seen. Incredible.

Aw man I was down too but didn't even attempt to go out, just relaxed all day. That blows.

I'm going out in belmar tomorrow am round 6 if anyone is going to be around depending if there are waves...after that i'll be down in monmouth beach loungin out...so give me a shout if anyone is going out

Whats up guys. Just joined this site. I like this thread concept.

Anyone know what this weekend is looking like? I am usually surfing down in Avalon.

Anyone kite surf in here?

Looks like it's going to be a typical July weekend... flat/poor. Can't really complain though, we've been pretty spoiled for the past month or two considering the season. I've never done the kiteboard thing before, looks fun though.

I'm going back out to southern Cali for another ten days, pumped!!

Yeah typical Jersey.

Where in CA you going. I lived in Newport Beach for 3 years before moving to Oahu for a year.

Thats why I started getting interested in kite surfing. Something to do when the waves aren't quite like Hawaii. Looking for people to go with. Took a lesson or two and have the equipment.

What street in avalon do you surf at? I am always at 30th street skimming. You will knows it me when you see me. I will prob be coming head on into you into the wave.

This year the two boards I have been taking are my blue cf victoria board and a white cf board that has a big I heart France on the front with French Fries and the bottom is Red/White/Blue

Now thats a board I can remember.

I usually surf at 30th (parents have a place on 34th). I have two fun shapes: an 8' 2" Heritage and a 7' 6" Seasoned. The Heritage is all white and the Seasoned is white, yellow and green on top.

With my fiance down and a ton of family, I never know my surfing schedule. I either go out around 8 or 9 before most of the fam is up, or I head to the beach at 34th around noon with the fam and walk down to 30th with one of the boards. I'm typically wearing navy blue board shorts and a white rash guard with blue trim. And having had a bummed knee the past 6 months, I got a nice little pouch as well. Waves have been small the past couple of weeks, but I took my 5 year old cousin out for the 1st time. He is a natural. (Granted, he probably ways 60 lbs and is riding my 8'6" fun shape.) 1st push into a wave and he road it to the shore. Check it out.







Now to keep him practicing so that I can turn him into the next Kelly Slate and retire on my management fees when he lands the multimillion dollar contract with Quicksilver.....ha ha

I finally got down to the shore last saturday and caught the end of the surf comp. Was out skiming till about 6:30. Went back sunday and was practicing my backflips down on 36 street until I poped about 3-4 feet off a wave fliped came down and landed heel first on a rock in the sand. That did me in for the day and I can still hardly walk. Hoping I am good for this weekend.

I was surfing on the other side of the pier while the Brendan Borek was underway. Probably going to Corvettes at Carlisle this weekend.

That's awesome about your cousin, way to start him young. 5 years old and he's ripping!

No waves at all recently, no surprise. Hoping for some longboarding tomorrow and to be able break out the shortboard on Sunday.

Thanks brotha. Yeah I think I have yet to get out my 7'6". Just not big enough for me to have fun on yet in these toilet bowl ripples.
