it would mainly be a weekend play toy, the beretta will still be my main car. unless i get a cheap lil 4 banger as a beater for work

Morning all. Not much of an eventful weekend. Just submitted my work to the other place and hoping they like it. Definitely want to work with them full time instead of here, if they offer me enough that is.

Morning all.

Seems I may have been a bit early to claim the volvo dead. Did another compression test this weekend, and fiddled with the ignition timing. First compression test (40 miles after rebuild) was 120-130-130-150. Yesterdays numbers were 135-150-150-160. Still not sure how I feel about that #1 cylinder, but the motor seems to run pretty well. Its not running perfectly yet, but its fairly consistent in the way it does run. Only issue I ran into was when adjusting the timing- advancing the timing definitely seemed to make it run better, but didnt affect the idle. I was using a vac gauge to set the timing "in the ballpark," and was trying to set it at just under 20psi of vacuum. But with the vac gauge hooked up and the engine running, the vacuum didnt change when I adjusted the timing. I moved the distributor from fully retarded to fully advanced, and while it seems to run better on advanced, I couldnt get it to idle at anything higher than 12psi of vac... Not sure why.

Aside from that, pretty boring weekend. SOOOO ready for spring! I find myself sitting inside going "whhhyyyy is it dark already?!"

Then when its light out Im going "whhyyyy is it too cold to work on anything?!" :p

I agree with you. I cant wait for more sunlight. These dark days feel terrible for me.

For those of you feeling especially crabby during this part of the year, I may offer some advice. Last year I got this "light box" from target that puts out UVB light, its supposed to simulate the sun and make you feel less "blah" during these darker months. I was a total skeptic at first, but it really did help. Sit in or near it for 15 minutes a day, you will notice your overall mood get lifted after a day or two. Another option for the seasonal blues that a lot of doctors recommend is tanning. Yes- there is now a legitimate, non-gay reason for a man to go tanning!

I suffer from WICKED seasonal depression, and this is my first year that Ive actually done something about it. Last year was intense, I was seriously considering moving to Georgia with my mom to avoid winter this year. This year ive been using the light box and trying to get as much natural sunlight as possible, and the difference is amazing. I still feel blah, but last year around this time I was ready to rip my hair out. Talk about cage rage. Im pissed I didnt start treating this sooner, but it took an outside perspective for me to recognize the issue, and Im MUCH happier now.

Just some food for thought.

3.9L 5speed Regular Cab, It's cheap and in decent condition. Been wanting a light duty pick up for a while. I can't fit anything in my wrx.
