I like that idea too. At least my tires are getting use this year, but if I'm honest, by the time my street gets plowed the rest of the roads are bare. The utility of snow tires around here is a bit suspect ;) That's like every single one of my neighbors having a snow blower. It just seems ridic for every person on the block to have a big expensive machine that gets used 3 times a year. Up in Rochester, it probably makes a lot more sense. It takes a while to shovel, but it's just a couple times a year.. Just gotta man up I guess. This year is nicer because the rv is a lot of real estate I don't have to shovel. Of course as long as I hold out on buying a snow blower it will keep this 8-12" **** up ;)

As far as the money, I agree. I mean it's kind of interesting having a crazy expensive wedding, but I had a better time at a $5K wedding I recently went to then I did at a $150K wedding so I don't think it's a worthwhile endeavor. Spending that kind of money versus getting a 911 GT3 or you know.. a house.. is downright stupid IMHO.

Yeah... I mean it would probably be a bit buffet style.. definitely less formal. You're right and that would be a lot of food waste. We'd probably come up with a list and then make everyone indicate their preference ahead of time. Then just buy extras so everyone can have something else. Besides, in my family it's first come, first serve so I'd make my wedding that way too ;) I dunno, I've just had a lot of catered food and it's usually garbage.. crappy recipes, poor quality meat, and food I never eat and don't want to eat. It seems like a LOT of time is spent on appearance and they forget to make sure the food tastes good. The most recent cheap wedding I went to just had hors d'oeuvres. a lot of them. And it was *really* good. They had a giant fruit table with a chocolate fountain too. very cool. I think the food, booze and people makes or breaks a wedding. Everything else is optional... but hey I'm a dude.

I have a snowblower, my parents gave us their old one... AFTER the storm last year . Its great for me because if there is anything over 6" or so my knee really doesn't hold up. Other then that, I have no problem shoveling. I actually enjoy it for some reason.

I haven't fired it up this year yet. If I don't need it I think I'll just run a tank of gas through it just so it doesn't sit forever. Fill it back up,put in some fuel stabil, and drain the carb and it should be good to go next year again.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I don't really feel comfortable paying our friends for a service anyway.

i really wanted just to do a cocktail hour afterwards, some nice fruit and light hors d'oeuvres, some champagne and be done with it. Spending $100 per plate for 100 people just seems ridiculous to me. But from what i was told the food was great, I got about a bite of food, and maybe 3 hors d'oeuvres.
