So I went to the range today. Shot the Sig and loved it. Also brought my Glock and Kimber UC II. After Pagoda240 shot the Kimber he had to have it. I had to have his AR-15...the rest is history!!!

thats false, compare costs of how much a box of .45's cost compared to how much it costs to reload a box

Me and my buddy have started to reload out own ammo. You can save about $2-3 bucks a box on 9mm over Walmart but the sayings really starts to add up when you reload 40s and up. Its not only cheaper but it's relaxing to load your own ammo in my opinion plus you never have to go to the store and worry if they are going to have it in stock or not.

a box of .45 target ammo is like 23-25 at CP, from what ive been told it costs about 12-15 to reload 50 .45's

CP is a tad over priced for ammo. I think you can find it at Walmart for 17-19/box but I could be wrong because I never bought it. I would think you could reload .45 for probably closer to 10-12/box as long as you have the old shells. You figure a lb of powder is $30 bucks which is 7000 grains. Not sure how many grains of powder a .45 bullet uses so lets say you need 1.5lbs of powder for 1000 bullets. 1000 bullets of .45 is about $100 shipped. and then a box of 1000 primers is $30-35 bucks. So your looking at 100+45+35 = $180 for 1000 bullets which is a little under $10/100. This of course is not including the beer and food you'll consume by making the bullets.

you might lose a limb in the process! my guns cost way too much to experiment on unfortunately. i couldnt justify blowing up my TRP to save 10 buck on ammo

your spending up to 800 bucks on gear, plus powder primers and bullets, you are only saving a dollar or 2 on a box, i dont know how long it takes to reload a box but im guessing a half hour if you are fast Quote:

It doesn't cost that much to start reloading. You can get a decent press and a few sets of dies for about $300. Also .40 in my opinion is not different then any other round. You just have to know how to read and you should be fine. Your probably right about the no drinking and reloading but I meant a few beers not like spliting a case lol. I'm going to have to venture over to CP to shot with you guys sometime since all I have is a Glock 26, SW9VE and a .22 rifle I'd love to shoot some of the other cool stuff you guys got.
