After that mark up that dealers will put on it, you would be dumb not to buy a GT and mod it.

Jason they are going to be had for about mid $40k out the door probably. Now did they do their work? Yes, without a doubt. The engine is able to take forced induction a lot better than the GT. In the end, I'd rather spend the $8k more on mods that I would want.

if there is a markup.

there were none on the 2010 or 2011's. on top of that, the boss 302 is going to come in under the gt500 prices, which do not see much of a markup.

the car is a beast, and is worth it's price. it out competes the M3, which is it's competition in it's class, for far less. It's also going to hold it's value well, probably much better than the cobra's.

the boss 302 isn't a bad buy in any sense of the word. and if you're going to be racing in any stock class, you'd be a fool to buy a stock gt over this. the boss 302 is the ultimate track pack for the mustang

ultimately, the boss 302 isn't your sort of car anyway. sure, it will do very well on the drag strip, but you'd def be better off with a stock GT with some bolt ons to get that 30 extra hp + tq.

simple fact of this car is, it hasn't been built to be modded or street driven. it's a very well priced capable track car.

I know i wouldnt mod a boss 302, except for purchasing a set of wider rims w/ r-comps for the track. the people that buy this car and never track it, are most definitely doing it wrong!

I love when American car companies compare their cars to ONE ASPECT of a German car, and claim that makes them better.

"Look, the Mustang went around the Nurburgring .08 seconds faster than the BMW! Which clearly makes our car better in every way!"

Uh, not quite, Ford. Not quite.

performance is more than one aspect... and i'm pretty sure that's why we like cars.

here is a good comparo of the 2011 base gt and 2011 m3
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

they're close... very very close across the board.

looks inside and out are all subjective. the only aspect we need to compare, and can compare is that one aspect... performance (which includes a ton of different parts)

Ken I agree with you. Definitely a track car without a doubt which of course isn't my thing haha. I was never saying you are wrong. If I were to get one it would be left stock as you stated. In my opinion if you mod it, it will be worth less compared to a stock one. As you said which it was meant for, definitely a track car.

I just think its funny that American companies think theyre even in the same ballpark as BMW. Buick comparing themselves to Lexus? Ford comparing themselves to Toyota? LOL! As if!

The day that a BMW begins to rattle and fall apart at 40k is the day Ill buy American, because only then would they be truly comparable.

why do people feel the need to bring in points that aren't even being argued? bmw interiors has always been better than ford's. though, ford's new interiors are really a lot nicer than they were... i try to ignore the squeaking at under 20k haha!

my only point of comparing the two cars is on performance alone. it's amazing that ford has been able to take a 32k car, and match what the bmw is capable of. i don't think ford intended to compare the cars any other way

With professional drivers the Mustang is slightly better. The M3 will out drive the Mustang for 99% of the population and thats why it is truely a better car.

I wasnt necessarily starting a debate directly with you, just your post sparked my interest in something that commonly bothers me with American auto makers. It just appears to me that they compare themselves to cars that they have no business comparing themselves to. To the point where I find it funny.

Like for example, the Ford commercial with Mike Rowe? The woman in the commercial seems like a typical woman talking about cars- completely clueless. Whats more, she trades in her 04 or 05 Highlander for an '11 Ford Escape, and they have the audacity to make that look like a solid decision. Im sorry, but Id take the highlander over an escape any day, and even if I wouldnt, some completely clueless woman is not going to convince me that Ford is better than Toyota. I would GLADLY spend $10,000 on a USED 90k+ mile toyota than spend that same money on a brand new American car.

I guess my problem isnt necessarily their products, but more the practice of comparing their inferior products with legitimate vehicles.

It'd be like having IRFGT try to convince you that Rota is on par with Work or Volk. You'd laugh too.

Next ford debate, you need to say "nuh uh, my car can beat up your car." and then tell everyone that they're wrong and you're right, no matter what.
