i realize it. i just don't think he realizes or wants to realize that i can drive now. he was the same way with my brother just gave into what my brother wanted earlier.

if the $2500 is your money, buy what you want. If its his money, be happy with what you get.

much of my teen cars were bought by my step dad, 2k here and there for something that lasted 6-12 months. one car lasted 6 days ;)
some of the cars were better than others. the best was an 88 Celica that was mint, just needed an engine tune.

So his choices were off and on. He finally just gave me 2k to buy a car of my choosing.

He made one remark, "if you buy a toyota, i will pay for repairs when it needs it. you buy anything else... its on you."

what did i do? i bought an 86 chrysler laser turbo I fixed the minor issues that popped up with it... until the starter went and i could fit the rebuilt one in b/c the turbo mount was in the way... and 100% rusted together, couldn't unbolt it. sat for a year :-/

if i had known better, i would have taken that 2k and sought out a supra or a celica gt-s...

the point of that little story? talk to your dad, tell him if the two of you can agree on a domestic, would he help with repairs and upkeep?

there are a ton of awesome and goofy domestics that could be fun to own.

I detailed the living **** out of my car. Was just going to rotate the tires, but nooooo i was all like heyyy the wheels are off, let me clean and wax the inner rim and the face of the wheels, then do the underside of the car and the wheel wells, then...wash it.....then omg polish it>???, then wax it too!!>?? then do the interior!?!?

So yeah, i rotated the wheels, that I took off around 11am, they went back on the car at 5pm. I took pics, should I post them somewhere? Title it, "A real detail. End of story"

Don't go to overboard. Once I got through that stage I felt like I could bench a lot of weight. I tried it, I benched it, then had the worst headache of my life.
