I went out this morning just for S&G...be careful everyone huge rips and huge swells...at least a couple good 10 to 15 footers.

Where were you?? Good for you on the morning session regardless of how big it was.
Ugh, I just went to check the buoys and 44025 went down two days ago, weak.
I should've gone down today but have to much work to get done. Will be in LBI Saturday-Sunday.

Yeah it was closing out for a while in Belmar too... that second picture I made the first section and got barreled but it closed on the way out. Then it cleaned up for an our or two then died for good.

I used to paddle off of Holyoake Ave. -> 14th street on LBI back in the day. My surfboard now resides in my attic

bumping this kinda old thread... didnt want to get in trouble.

Has anyone been out recently?

Springsuit survivable? or is it colder than that. Im headed down to my buddies place in Surf City on Saturday morning, and I dont have a fullsuit anymore.....supposed to be some solid ground+wind swell (3ft solid I hope) so Im hoping for some fun since I havent gone since 06

Depends on what you can handle but you should be fine with a springsuit. A 3/2 full is the ideal in this season but it might be warmer now, I haven't been out in NJ in a few weeks. As for the surf I don't think there will be much this weekend but you could get something rideable.

I got a new board... 6'0" JC Hawaii, fairly narrow and thin. Nice compliment for my fish, now I'll have something to ride when there are actually waves. My brother also got this month's Letter of the Month in Surfer Mag and won a brand new carbon fiber board... absolutely sick, I can't wait until he gets it.

I went out last weekend at monmouth beach and for that area there were really nice sets all day with no closeouts. But the water was frighagdgjashdgjkahsdgasdgjskldfgs cold! Im just glad i had my full 3/2...they says its not going to warm up until mid july so keep the full suits out guys. I'll be going out tomorrow at monmouth beach or sandy hook if there are some sets...so anyone heading down give me a heads up

sis...you def need to throw that carbon board up on your rack and take a sweet pic lol

Yeah Ive been surfing south-end oc a few weekends and a 3/2 full is def still idea. I think in the next weeks though it should warm up into the mid sixties.

lol. Well I over estimated myself.. I brought both my spring suit, and my full suit (4/3) with booties, and I put my full suit on when we got there and I wished I had gloves and a hood haha. The water was FAREEZING. But the waves were good at around 4 oclock on North Beach. So much fun.

i was surprised there were rideable bumps today until late in the afternoon. And yeah, it wasn't warm but was manageable... I had a 5/3 on but wish i'd had my 3/2.

F that...only show boards are meant for that...i heard that board rides like a porshe. But only problem is its for big waves dont know if it could be in its element at the jersey shore at least not until the fall

I just went to look for this thread and it was in my User CP, haha

I didn't get out today but yesterday was pretty soup-y. I had one of the best sessions of the year in Belmar from 7-9:30 until the guards came and kicked me out. Solid chest high, occaisonal head, rights and no one else out at my beach
As it got later it just got messier and messier. At high tide I rode a body board for the first time in like 3 years... kind of fun! I wouldn't have surfed it though, just dumping closeouts. Definitely rips all over the place, too.

Do you surf the cove in sandy hook? I've never been up there when there are waves but have been meaning to go.
