update your OS, maybe. and what do you mean it's been acting up? is your phone old enough that you can get the discounted upgrade yet? If AT&T isn't helping, have you thought of googling or calling an Apple care rep? the issue might be with the phone and not with the service provider...

Yeah, esp if you have applecare just replace it. Make sure you unjailbreak it before you take it in. My 3g was right up at the end of applecare and the battery life was **** so I made them give me a new one. They did so with no problem, now I can hold off until it comes to verizon.

Well, the car dealer sold the Mustang out from under me. So pissed right now. Can't be too bad becuase it isn't like I put a deposit down but I spoke to the lady Friday and sent her an email with that I needed so I could get the bank to write me a check to being down. I get an email back 3 days later, its sold. They were open on Sat and Sunday and couldn't tell me with. I only wasted my and the banks time.

Ive been reluctant to update my OS because its SO hit or miss for 3gs phones. Almost EVERYONE with a 3g regrets going to 4.0, and it seems 50/50 for 3gs users. Ive been happy with 3.13 for the past year, Id like to continue with this OS, but ill try updating it as a last resort.

I am eligible for the 4, but Im completely happy with my 3gs when its working. I want to keep it as long as possible, and upgrade to the 4 when this breaks. I dont have the money to upgrade to the 4 right now anyway.

I called an apple care rep, they want $39 to diagnose it over the phone. For free, they can send me a list of "do it yourself" troubleshooting tips, none of which helped.

I have googled the problem, and most links i found related to my problem after dropping the phone. I didnt drop my phone recently, but tried their suggestions none the less. Everything on the phone still works, all the apps open no problem.. just no service.

One thing I havent tried yet is removing the sim and putting it back in- which ill do right now.

Well, they didnt have a deposit from you, so id consider it fair game. word of mouth isnt worth **** anymore. Also, what dealer is open on sundays in pa?

4.x sucked my ass sideways on my 3g, but 4.2 is GREAT. All problems fixed and I got it jailbroken again in like half a day after 4.2 was released. I'm an iphone dev so I was running the 4.2.1GM forever because 4.1 was such a piece of garbage.

It wasn't PA. It was a Ford Dealer at Virginia Beach. If they wouldn't of taken 3-4 days to return my call/email, I would of put a depost down on the spot. Guess I'm stuck with the ****ty GTO a bit longer til I find something else I really want or find something so cheap I don't care what it is.

lemme know what your schedule is like. we can meet up somewhere in the area or at GV and chit chat. I'm looking for some more work b/c work is so ****ing boring and it's time better spent than playing video games

I think they fixed a lot of the problems with the latest update. I have a 3gs and didn't have any problems but i know what you mean about the 50/50 thing and 3gs users. So many people i know complained about it.

Lol pm me your last name. I still dont know who you are because I cant view the pics in the "what do you look like" thread. But I had a feeling we shared some classes.

I had Ms. Fly in 11th grade who was a less than qualified math teacher (or i was a less than qualified student), and in 10th grade I had some teacher who was fairly attractive with a last name I couldnt pronounce then, much less remember now. lol
