Actually - I have no brand bias towards Nissan Motors.

I just don't like KA's or RB's when there is a better option available to replace either.

To clarify a bit, when referring to RWD Nissans like an S-Chassis I prefer the following motors:

4-Cylinder: SR20. Why? Because there's a million parts for them and they can rev to 9k with simple head work.

6-Cylinder: 2JZ or 1JZ. Why? Because the 2JZ came in American cars making it easy to find parts for compared to Nissan's RB. Also after market parts are much more common.

8-Cylinder: LS-Whatever. Common, inexpensive, relatively light, awesome.

I think those Monte's look horrendous, and you'll be spending a fortune in gas. How do they even lift them that high? Blocks?

I love the LSX, and the 2JZ is excellent but RB parts are not harder to find and the same price if you buy quality aftermarket. Revving to 9k is nice for drifting but otherwise there is no reason to go sr over ka.

Pretty sure getting OEM parts for the RB is still a pain in the buttocks stateside, or at least compared to a 2J.

KA's also have some inherent design flaws from the factory, and I must say that the SR seems to be more well engineered, at least for boost. It's more of a matter of opinion at this point though. My major pet Peeve with KA's is that they don't like to rev as well as SR's, which I mentioned before, and it's due in part to the fact that the KA does not have a fully balanced crank from the factory, so the motors can do really interesting things in the higher RPM range.
