i just went on a date tonight and wanted to see what you guys favored as far as restaurants go. i searched for a thread like this and didnt find one. sorry if its a re-post. we went to old city (cuba libre) for dinner then dave and busters for some video gaming. some of my other favoriates in the philly area are tangerine, buddakan, and if i dont wanna spend as much $ villa de roma in south philly. post up where you guys like to go!

I like Highlawn, it's in NNJ. It's a suit and tie place. Nice view of the NY Skyline and perfect service.

hibachi grill in philly, or if i want italian (and i always do) carabbas is number one but macaroni grill sometimes will suffice (bigger portions)

zaconnes (might be spelled wrong). On cottman ave in northeast phila...GREAT italian place. Real small and cosy too.

If you aren't looking for Philly and prefer the suburbs.
Right now my most favorite place to eat is Funky Little Kitchen in Pottstown. It is a BYOB and the food is incredible. Although they have a small menu and it changes frequently. Going again on Friday. Usually under $100 (for 2 people) for food and of course wine is BYOB.

If you prefer a little more high class. I like Savona. With drinks its going to be closer to $250+ (or 2 people).

When I lived in the city, I frequented:
The Saloon - BEST STEAK I have ever had but expensive (think more then ruth chris etc.) Luckily it was always on the company tab.
Morimoto - Company Tab
El Vez - Company Tab
Jones - if you are on a budget
Anything else Steven Starr (Buddakan et al)
La famiglia - A very good old school Italian type.
Radicchio - A very good BYOB - Company Tab

Upstairs at Virelli's was pretty good, but my fiancee got sick there.

Same problem I have.
However since he asked after taking out a girl I will say my favorite places to take my girlfriend on special occassions are Moselem springs (in between Kutztown and redding), Glasbern Inn, Blue Wine bar, or Bellisimos in Allentown.

Villa Capri in Doylestown. Great Italian food.

The Gardenville Inn. The bartender and the owners walk around the place smoking and drinking. Great food. My kind of place.
