depends, do you want your hood destroyin your windshield?
Its one of those safety precautions ppl knock as excessive, but ive seen CF hoods go up more than once, so i wouldnt go without it.

It shouldn't but I have seen it happen a handful of times. Get pins.

The latches can break. They aren't as strong as your stock hood.

It really depends on the manufacturer. If done properly, you'll have to break the CF in order for the latch to separete itself from the hood. If you're not sure, then get pins. There's TOO many cheap products out there.

well, we can sit here and tell you not to do it, but if the latch breaks and does hit your windsheild none of us are going to suffer as a result of it...
i dont use the hood pins because i really dont think the latch is going to break... if you dont want your windsheild to break or your roof smashed (seen it happen) then get them... i dont think those carbon fiber ones are too good tho, it'll look weird imo... just get black ones and throw em on if you feel you need them

^No they're not. AeroTech is pimp. I have them on my Rx7. Nearly Impossible to install but worth every penny.
I keep one of those Latch keys on my chain for everytime I need to help out a friend who cant seem to find his that he swears was in his glove box.

I've had my Aerocatch pins for about a year and I love them. Best $100 I've spent:
