Thats odd, because toyota is normally really good at keying all the plugs.

this is what $80 worth of trans fluid looks like...

we also redid all of the grounds... this is the front upper firewall grounding bracket, and pete ground off the powdercoat to bare metal. paint was also stripped on the firewall for a good contact. its wild how redoing a few grounds with super clean bare metal contacts improved the resistance of the system.

my master techs

and if you look carefully at this sequence, you'll see why we were having issues with the ECU/wiring...

hint: now the gray is with the gray and the black is with the black. who woulda thunk that they would have 2 different plugs that still clip together right next to each other? we had the ECU and the Igniter plugs switched... doh.

I'd pay good money to go back in time and be there for the wiring discovery. There would be some serious ball busting going on.

Understandable though. You guys put in some serious time, usually late at night and half asleep making room for a simple mistake. Hopefully nothing got cooked as a result.

Time for more forward progress. I'm not much help with the car itself, but if you need a daytime parts run, or anything else...let me know.

thanks everyone... i really need to get stuff in the engine bay polished to finish off the look... it will improve things a ton. i'm anxious to do that but it will come after everything else is taken care of.
and yeah that rear diff fluid looked nasssty, i dont even know what it is.
planning to put a full day in on thursday, so we'll see how far we get... hopefully things go well and we'll bring her to life but it really depends on how cooperative the car wants to be.
i cant really call anyone to let them know when first startup is because i dont know myself when it will be time, and i'm sure not gonna put it on hold so i can schedule it with other people, haha.

yeah, i'm used to draining warm fluid but it was a hell of a lot thicker than any used hot or new cold fluid i've ever seen. there were no metal chunks in there so thats a good thing...

It was an easy mistake. you probably didnt have all four in front of you.. so you matched two and didnt pay attention to the colors all said and done.
