Look in to getting Aetna Health/dental. I pay $106/month for full health and dental. I had to get a root canal, and with the pain medicine, the initial check up, and the surgery, I paid something like $60 on a $2500 bill. I also had a bad sprain in my ankle, emergency room trip+x-ray+air cast+follow up cost was under $50 to me (it was over $1000). I chopped off my finger, another e-room trip, stitch it back on, and a return visit, again, I paid under $50. I would say that $106/month is well worth it!

However, 2008 NEC won't take place until I believe 2011, and the current tests are all on the 2005 NEC.

I'm a residential electrician btw. My brother has a strong background in commercial/industrial electrical, and he can continue doing that stuff when we come across it.

I'd rather do lighting design than just pull wire though, and trouble shooting is always fun. Another stupid thing that I like doing is wiring the electrical panels, simply because I see them done so damn ugly all of the time (it's boring, but I do like that I can see nice, pretty work!). Here are a couple of the older panels...I do on average 2/week, including one this morning.

http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/2...wire002np1.jpg

All that wire pulling crap is boring, and you never get to see/do anything interesting. With lighting, you can actually make a "visual" difference though.
That is some of the neatest work I have seen done in a pannel. If I pass school this year, hopefully I can continue on into the 2 year program, wich is more commerical based, even though next semester we start on the commerical end of the program.

Wow, I think Im going to look into that. That sounds pretty good. My teeth are prone to cavities no matter how good of care they get. Thats the reason I had my last tooth pulled (very last one on the bottom-im no kenzo), it broke down to the nerve and I couldnt swing the $$ for a root canal. I wound up spending $170 for just novocaine and the extraction.

Holy Sheetz! I'm paying $630 for Pam and myself...no dental. I guess its because I'm all battered and old and stuff.

My old man is paying about the same as you for him and my mother, but with dental, and they are both smokers and he has degenerative disc disease (huge back problem). My brother, who is 5 years older than me (27) is paying $120/month for the same coverage as I am, same shape. I guess it goes up as you get older .

Well if you haven't checked already, see what Aetna can offer. They were about 50% of what the CLOSEST company was.

Nice! You must have family medical problems or something, because that just seems extra high!

No problems here. Only with eyeballs, which will destroy my later years...just like my dad, my grandfather, and his dad, and his dad, etc...but I don't have an eyeball policy. I hate health insurance. Maybe it is because of all my ER visits, getting stitched up like Frankenstein.
