same guy i was talking about dimitri the sti just wont take abuse as much as an evo, come on bro u can wouch that i do donuts in the evo allllllll the time and i have yet not broken anything knock on wood, but really evos take so much more beating, and are so much more mod friendly and thanks for actually supporting me and the fact that in these aspects evo is the dominant car

The worst thing was to ask that question on a mostly subaru forum, where all the guys are hating the fact that the evo is better and all they got to say is that im a Mitsu fanatic, well maybe i am a mitsu fanatic but you would be too, if you launched your car daily took it to the track did hundreds and i mean hundreds of donuts, smoked a ****load of wrx's, sti's and a plethora of other cars in it, and was still confident that every morning you come outside and youll still be able to start the car and drive to work/school

I think Mike should put his two cents in.
He has owned a WRX then Evolution.
And ultimately return to the WRX.

Thanks and evewn though the sti won at the end its because big als car blew up after a bunch of passes down the track, and most people still gave the win to the evo's

Well it might be a stereotype but still man, u know my neighbor with the 400hp dsm, he was looking into buying an evo but ultimatley chose the sti, evne though he knew the evo is faster and handles better etc., i asked him why he buy the sti well first of all he says the price, and second of all the ride is softer on it, thats why i might have stereotyped on that, but really i think the majority of sti/wrx drivers are older than 25 we should check the demographic distribution of the wrx and i say more older people drive them

Who said anything about shop cars with 100k into them?? I don't remember that post, we simply stated the sti with tbe exhaust and tune (300whp) vs evo 9 with tbe exhaust and tune (370whp). If you ask me, those cars would be daily drivers, they only have exhaust and a tune. Now don't get mad because both the cars we are talking about in here are faster than your mustang.

Gotcha, but gadiels sti wasn't the fastest there that day. I beleve it's best run was a 10.6, almost 1 sec slower than ams 9.9 run on STREET TIRES. Now don't get me wrong, I've heard that the long valley sti just hit a 9.67et which is very impressive.

What u are saying is that at the evo vs. wrx shootout the gadiel sti was not the fastest car and only won by accident on the side of the opposition
correct?

I think it speaks a lot for Mike getting rid of the EVO and going back to Subaru land... regardless I always give EVOs a thumbs up when I see them because I respect them... gotta love AWD turbo cars

Both cars are overrated.

End of story.

Yes, they have the power, steering, blah blah blah. Whatever. Get over it, every car has it's powers and weaknesses. Stop debating on "which car is better" because you're starting to sound like ricers.

Knock of the bench racing and appreciate cars for what they are and how much work has gone into them. Sometimes I'm disgusted at calling myself a car enthusiast when I read crap like this from other so-called enthusiasts.

afaik, big valley was on street tires as well. i had heard they kept it just fast enough to win and were going to throw the slicks on after the win and see how much faster they could go, but the track had closed after the last run.

*edit* well said, clint.

no you only needed a full turbo kit, a new fuel system, engine management, etc etc etc and you basically perform a tad better than a stock sti

like i said if you want a piece just pm me and will see what your thousands upon thousands of $$$$ in mods can do
