Life is fragile, and often cut far too short. For people who decide to live out there on the edge, you have to remember that for some, that is who they are, and you can't come down hard on them after the fact. It's human nature to push the envelope, to try and be "controlling the thing that can't be controlled". Not saying you should turn common sense off, just saying that some people just have different gear ratios in their personality. Even if they don't, a freak situation could still claim them. People are all different, and every situation where tragedy strikes is different. I for one hope the memorial event is put together, and people show up, because everyone needs to remember that life is fragile, and you should live it to the fullest, not the foolishest.

correct. But I guarantee that if Blair had survived and the 60y/o died, Blair would be facing charges of 2nd degree murder, and most likely get a plea bargain of 3rd degree with at least 10-20 years in prison, though probably get out early on probation/good behavior.

Especially since he was young and a fast car was involved. Whether he was racing or just speeding, he would have been tried and convicted of homicide.

My initial post really wasn't intended to bash Blair... but more so the OP who did his best to paint Blair in the greatest of light, best wishes to HIS family, etc etc etc. But said nothing of the older guy or his family.

I like how two people are dead in a car accident where the OP says ''he went head on with a 60 year old man in a volvo'' and everyone assumes it was drag racing....I didn't see anything about drag racing in that post so I don't know why everyone is jumping to that conclusion right away.....isn't that why we hate it when cops assume that everyone that drives a fast or modded car must be driving it like a maniac everyday? And let's put it this way, even if the guy did street race (which is stupid if he did) I'm sure all those close to him know it was stupid thing to do and really don't need us to rub it in their faces in this time grief for ALL involved. Let the courts decide who is guilty but no matter what a member of our car family is dead (as well as another person) and right now that's all that matters. May he and the other driver rest in peace.

The police are saying that racing was involved. I'm not sure where you are located, but just about every local station around here has been running this story. That's probably were the racing claims come from.

I was at the scene when ABC and Fox was there, me and a few other kids were actually on fox but we did not give them a statement or anything. All they wanted was a story, they brought up drag racing and reckless driving a few times, one woman even made asked a question about Blair killing another man. I know that its there job to get a story but the way they went about it they showed no sympathy for what had happened.
And i have also heard a few things about getting together tonite at 8 but im not sure of the details.

I didn't say anything about the information being true. Someone didn't understand where the racing accusations were coming from.

Where was it at? I know there is a rolling road that crosses over Rt. 1. The "West" rolling road (Up by ohara) is the only place I can really think of it happening.

Hey all. I'm still in shock over this. I've known Blair for years. He was a great kid. One of the brightest kids to come out of springfield in a long time. Its a true tragedy that his life was cut so short. I almost didn't post in this thread at all because most of the people in here never even met Blair. If you knew him, than you know that he was too smart to race on Rolling Road. There is a story here that hasn't come out yet, and until it does, i don't think any of us have a right to talk about it. I was at the scene of the accident 5 minutes after he crashed. i saw how destroyed his car was. Its totally heartbreaking to see his mother and his girlfriend of over 2 years sob uncontrolably. i wouldn't even know what to say to his little sisters. It is also a crying shame that Mr. Eden was killed, But it was an accident. Nothing more. Accidents happen and people die everyday. Theres nothing anyone can do about it, so we might as well just remember Blair in the best light possible. To those that knew him: We all love and miss Blair. personally I still can't believe that i'll never see him again. its been a tough weekend, but we will all band together and get through this as a community. Its what blair would have wanted. I hope all residents of springfield see this horriffic accident at take it to heart. Any of us could have died that night, many of us would have diserved it more. SLOW DOWN! seriously. I can't bury any more friends. To those that didn't know Blair: You missed out on an incredibly individual. He was the happiest guy i ever met i never saw him without a smile

Rest In Peace Blair. Never forgotten.

Well put Tim.

Here is a video that continues the show the sadness and tragedy of this event. It also shows what we did for him lastnight at the scene of the accident. It was hard to see his family there last night.
