And no one is saying it's not a Honda or it's not quick. They are saying it's not a Civic. It's a tube chassis. It could be a Honda Insight. It's still just a Honda motor. That's it.

As for DaBomb's point...He is just stating that other make owners don't typically feel they need to defend their model by saying "Civic's will go 6's" (I saw a 7 BTW). He says other make owners leave it at the make.

For instance the link I posted is a perfect example of what he's saying. It's doesn't say in the thread title "Eclipse does 6's". It says "4G63 does 6's". As in a specific motor. Not a hunk of plastic shaped like an eclipse.

You guys crack me up...how is going 7.0 in ANYTHING not respectable or something to be proud of? What does streetability have to do with it? It's a purpose built car. You'd have to say this about all race cars...Titan's Solaras, Rau's Eclipse, etc. Yeah it costs money, but it still takes skills to go down the track consistently...driver, engine builder, tuner, there are lots of key factors. I know several cars out there that keep getting money dumped into them only to keep blowing something up...motor, trans, turbo, etc. It's easy to hate, just don't understand why it's so widespread these days.

Purpose built drag cars are unimpressive to me in the overall scheme of things..

Yeah they're quarter times are insane and they run anywhere from 200-300mph which is impressive and I can appreciate that..but they're supposed to...they're purpose built for max speed in 1320 feet.

I'm more impressed cars that might run 8s and 9s but still are "streetable" to a certain degree.

Reason Honda guys post fast Civic's / Teg's is to remind the idiots that think Honda's can't be fast that they can be.

This IS a Civic, a very modified Civic made RWD. If it was a full tube chassis with full fiber glass body I'd have to say its just Honda powered.

I thought it was just a glass front end.. The whole bodies glass? If so its pushing that "only honda powered" feel. It does look to have a Civic chassis besides in front of the strut towers.

Regardless, its running just as fast if not faster as similar set ups running 2-3 times the displacement and FI.

yea its just a fiberglass front end, honda tuning magazine was at the shop last night doing a photo shoot so i guess its really not a honda lol
