Thanks dude. It's actually at a shop in Levittown now and I work nearby so I'm sure I'll meet you at one point or another.

If you can give me specifics, I can help better. My buddy also just picked up an 02 SE so he's trying to get a lot of my parts. I don't think there's much I have available off the top of my head, but I might know people who do.

In other news, ACL Race Main bearings are back-ordered from all vendors until mid-end of August. More delays

Manifold due back to me next week . For now all I can do is assemble my head. Still debating whether I want to do some de-shrouding in the chamber or not.

well the car is a 99' so i'd need a 99/00 motor for less hassle. I wouldn't want a 01+ due to vvt and whatnot.

I am 04 and have no VVT. I was only aware that select models did, like my friend's 02 SE. I DO have the VICS intake flapper jawns. However, unless I'm drunk this early, I recall seeing NB2 models without the VVT nonsense on the valve cover.

If you're going to run a Megasquirt though, it shouldn't matter what year or model you have because you can configure it to whatever you need, yes?

while you are an 04 with no vvt, you are also a turbo msm, which didn't come with vvt, ALL 01+ have VVT. 99/00 do not

That's queer. But hey, at that rate why not get an MSM motor? I wouldn't go out of my way to find one, but IIRC the 99/00 are pretty desirable so they might even be close in price. I seen MSM longblocks for ~1,500.

I'll keep my eyes open for ya. There was a shop near where my car is now that had a 99 or 00 in their lot they were parting out. Don't remember if its still there.

Little before and after, tried to maintain same angle.

And one other random.

If I knew the main bearings would be on backorder, I would have had Swain do my piston tops too

Rumor has it the main bearings left Aussie Land sometime last week. Maybe if the planets align we can start reassembling the block in October. Then 1,000mi of boost-less driving, dyno time, more dyno time, street tuning, then a little more dyno time. I should be able to get 325whp out of it easily, which will be...interesting, by the time the car is fully tuned temps will be in the 50s as a high I bet.

Yea I rear ended a lady a few weeks ago. No major damage, got a used hood, new eBay headlights, radiator support and she's back on the road. Oh and a new windshield.

I'll make an appearance over. I wanna get those fires going now that it's not humid outside anymore.

Confirmed that the bearings are finally in Colorado. I placed my order around August 10th. ACL made a bad batch and ended up trashing the whole thing and starting over, so that's what's been taking so long.

Now the updates can continue, and the car can soon be driving once again!

Got that put together yesterday. Not too hard except for putting in the little keepers. Lots of grease to hold them in place.

FINALLY got the head finished the other day. Quite an involved process overall, easily twice as much work to assemble it vs the block. You can also see we made a blockoff plate for the front of the head for the coolant reroute. Will give lots more room for the 3" Radiator

The manifold had butterly flaps from factory. These are useless with the Megasquirt installed and are a restriction so out they came and JBWeld in their place.

Almost ready to make a longblock and start mounting manifolds and creating feed lines for the EFR. Still have to install the massive radiator also.

I'm beyond excited to mount the head on the block, put the manifold on, mock up turbo, and see how its all going to look together. I decided to keep the Manifold Swaintech white and not go over it with anything else.
