reward for fixing my car..

whoever fixes my car will get a nice dinner on me...
(i'm sick of car issues and too lazy to deal with it right now)

car bogs when running...
vacuum reading less than 20 inch of Hg which is not right
sounds like a vacuum leak, but no leaks...
even if a pipe is look for my charge piping... my honda runs a MAP sensor and doesn't see flow... only absolute pressure.

Does it start right up? Does it idle properly? Is the power loss right when you step on the pedal or does it feel like it has power till when the boost is suppose to hit? Does the power drop off at a certain RPM? Does the turbo make noises. Does it blow smoke? Does the breather fill with oil or blow air while at idle?

Did you do a compression test, check the spark plugs, boost leak test???

My first guess would be spark plugs....

Does it start right up? Yes
Does it idle properly? No (rough)
Is the power loss right when you step on the pedal or does it feel like it has power till when the boost is suppose to hit? Haven't driven it really and the car buckles when driving too)
Does the power drop off at a certain RPM? don't think so.. however the car dies when i get off the gas
Does the turbo make noises. Does it blow smoke? nope
Does the breather fill with oil or blow air while at idle? positive? don't think so...
Did you do a compression test, check the spark plugs, boost leak test??? gotta get a compression tester...

My first guess would be spark plugs.... they only have 1k miles...

Pull them out and take a look. It could be very possible you hurt one. It doesn't matter how many miles you have on them, your car is not stock.

If your car was running lean/on the edge, you could have melted the electrode. That would be a worse case scenerio.

Check to make sure your getting spark at the end of each wire and if you have have a spare set of spark plug wires try swapping them out. After the compression test you should check your timing belt and make sure it didn't jump.

you dont need a timing light to see if your belt jumped a tooth. just pull the cover and see if all of the marks line up. your problem sounds like a vacuum leak. good luck.

it was a cool and breezy friday afternoon, and I just got off of work. Things seems promising that day, since I was planning on moving most of my belongings to my new found place in a yuppy-like place called manayunk. During my fateful drive home from work, my car began to hesitate upon acceleration. This has happened to me quite alot, and usually was a result of a hose loose, or a disconnected map sensor.
I made it to my former home and let it rest, and looked in the engine bay and saw no evidence of anything loose. I went inside to pack and clean, and later that night i realized the fate for that evening.
About 2 hours passed and around 11PM i decided to ask honda forums about the issue. I tried isolating the vacuum leak(which i thought it was all along) by disconnecting all lines, plugging all ports, except for the map sensor. Datalogging showed nothing that caught my eye:

around 12:30AM, sitting in my driver seat, it all became a blur, and any bystander would see something like this:

Fixing it is the easy part. Diagnosing it is tougher, lol.

Read this over again....

If the belt doesn't line up, then fix that first and then recheck compression.
