I haven't posted in here in a long time. I just thought I'd post a creepy story/car.

I got a call the other day from someone a few miles up the road to look at a 1g awd that has been sitting. When I got there, I realized it's the car I've always heard about, But no one ever knew where it was.

This car was bought new and stripped down on a rotisserie and color changed in the mid 90's. When it was getting re-assembled, EVERY piece of the car was re-purchased brand new and the assembly started. It got a new built longblock, built trans, hks vpc/gcc/ebc ETC , All the best back for it's time. In the late 90's the build continued and came to a hault when the owner passed away . When I got to the garage, Every wrench etc was all the same we he left it, As it hasen't been touched since his passing. It was really eerie to say the least. The owners parents (he was 26 back when passing), Wanted to get the car finished where he left off, And i'm assuming it'll just go back into the garage and sit (sadly). The car got rollbacked to my garage yesterday and I got started on it this morning. It had no spark, And the brakes locked from sitting so long. It had random parts all new in packages with receipts from the 90's not yet installed. I got the car started today for the first time since the 90's!!!!

This thing is like a time capsule. I feel like i'm back in the 90's when i'm around this thing. the body is flawless with not a single ding/scuff , nothing. When it were paintned, it were a bare shell so under the carpet ETC are all the same color aswell. I just thought everyone in this thread could appreciate a great condition car, that sat for 16-17 years in a garage, locked away in the dark.

Enjoy! Have a lot left to do, But it was crazy to be the first person to be able to turn the key on this car, Since the original owner was never able to see his project/build finished.

God I love that color! Other than those seats and wire loom from that era, the car is perfect. Great story (other than the dude dying)

Thanks Chris, You were the first person I thought of when I got this, I don't know many 1g people anymore , especially ones that can appreciate them! If you know how to use an hks vpc/gcc or know anyone knowledgeable with them, you are more then welcome to come in person and be the one to get this car finished up with a tune when i'm done with the rest of the odds/ends.

VPCs are fairly easy to "tune: with: Basically you just tweak the knobs one notch at a time until you get the results you want, datalog/watch the wideband, drive, turn another notch; OG Speed Density. My 1G originally had it with an AFC, don't remember the last time I saw it coupled to an actual GCC.

Yeah, it's an easy combo to tune if the chip is close to the injectors that are in it.

got some motivation back to try and finish the laser before winter sets in 100%, finished installing the pte6152, its in a stock housing for now but i have a t3 housing for it. i have a set of fp2 cams and new lifters/springs to go in but i may hold of on those till after the holidays so i can buy a timing belt and water pump. i was driving it around on 8psi after installing the turbo and the driveshaft started to thump pretty badly under any type of load so i dropped the shaft and filled the support bearings with polyeurothane window sealer for now. this weekend ill reinstall it and see if that fixed it, if not i guess it will have to get rebuilt but im reallly not looking forward to that. does anyone know a local shop or enthusiast who does that wort of work for a reasonable price?

it worked out ok, i now have vibrations at 40-60ish while cruising and it thumps slightly under very heavy load like on a launch but def better then before, it will hold me over till i can afford to rebuild it, for now i need to order a timing belt kit so i can tear it apart and put the cams/lifters/springs in and tune it on the new turbo
