Exclamation How to care for your window tint - PROPERLY!

Hey everyone!

We always get a lot of e-mails and questions from people asking -

HOW DO I CLEAN MY WINDOW TINT PROPERLY!?!

Its rather simple ladies and gentlemen...

1. Stay away from ammonia'd cleaners such as Windex (the formula with ammonia) and Automotive store glass cleaners, random store brands.. MAKE SURE THE BOTTLE SAYS "SAFE FOR TINTED WINDOWS" OR "AMMONIA FREE"

2. Buy glass cleaners from branded companies, such as DP, Eagle, Stoner and Meguiar’s, and PLEXUS.

3. Don't use SHOP RAGS, they are rough terry cloth material. If you must use a terry cloth, make sure it is new and white, but by other standards, use Micro Fiber Rags and Towels.

4. When cleaning your vehicle, clean the glass LAST, to avoid contaminating it with detailing products and interior sprays that may be harmful to your tint.

5. If cleaning your interior with shining or detailing products, try to cover your tint as much as possible. Masking tape and newspaper often do a great job at this, but DO NOT apply the tape TO THE TINT.

6. When cleaning your glass and tint, try to wipe with DOWNWARD motions, don't forget to try and clean your gasket in your window frame as much as possible. Dirty and Debris LOVE to get caught there when the window is down. USE A PLASTIC PANEL TOOL TO PULL THE GASKET AWAY IF YOU HAVE TO!!! DO NOT USE METAL TOOLS OR METAL OBJECTS.

7. For those who ask what WE USE to clean windows before tinting them, so that they are squeaky clean, is Baby Shampoo & Water... that is all we use to clean a customers pre-existing tint if they want more tint applied on top as well...

Feel free to ask any questions you may have!!!
