The only reason I put it there is cause Motorvated has a "problem" with the rear bumper being like a parachute...instead of actually making the car faster, he'll look for any excuse like "hey maybe if I have a rear diffuser, my 90whp car will be faster"...of course not that I care, I'm just content sitting here and at everything he says.

Obviously me wanting to put an LS1 in my car years down the road is much more laughable though....especially since it's something that will actually get done.

ur putting an LS1 in ur car? if ur already boosted why not beef up the internals and slap on a larger turbo on the car? I'm not familiar with miatas so sorry it's a dumb question.

It's not worth the money. Engine management for the MSM is expensive, and to get the same power that I would from an LS1 would cost a little more than the swap and wouldn't have the same "wow" factor, not that that matters. Even a stock LS1 in this car would be in 11s, have great torque, and be reliable, I'd feel much safer with that than a big turbo. Basically to get 400whp would need to bore the engine from 1.8 to 2.0, the entire build kit, larger turbo, etc.etc.

Besides, this isn't until the stock engine runs out of steam, and that's miles and miles away, I'll be driving this thing for many years before I even have to start looking for parts.

Premade swap kits? Yes. All you need from what I know is an LS1, T56 transmission, diff, etc. Then there's these guys.

http://flyinmiata.com/index.php?dept=115

I haven't read too much into it yet, it's too early, but I'm sure there is more to it than that.

The wheels are indeed heavy, but they actually weigh exactly the same as shock chrome VR4 wheels, so there was really no increase in rotational mass.

Are you sure about that drag coefficient? The reason I'm asking is that the 3000GT drag coefficient is 0.33.

OO and CN, if you actually knew anything useful about cars...you'de know how much aerodynamics effect the way a car handles and performs. Im pretty surprised you've switched your story and now care about how much power our cars have. Before you were all about how they dont need power because they handle so well. Sure I haven't spent time on the autocross or road course, but I at least know whats important to a car, especially our cars. Two months ago you could care less about power, and you were "over whelmed" by the power your car made. You want to put a chevy motor in a car you once were afraid to put a roll bar in because it was "hacking up a rare car". Your car made plenty of power for you, you go to the track one time and now you want 400 HP. Go sit on your gear shifter dude. You dont even come to this meet anymore, dont come to the thread either. Instead, go read and talk to people who can enlighten you as to why a diffuser makes your car better.

Yea, but I have the 9 inch wide wheels. The official website and my shipping print out, reads that they were 30lbs each, which is the same weight as a stock chrome VR4 wheel. So I just replaced heavy wheels with heavy wheels. That's all.
