christmas presents pretty much are wants. if you lost your job, i'm sure your family and friends can understand why they wouldn't get a christmas present. i went all out this year because i have the money to do it. if i didn't, i wouldn't. however, having a car is pretty much a necessity. i wouldn't be able to get to school or my job without a car. it does suck that you lost your job, however i'm sure many others have also lost theirs without making a thread about it.

Jul, you should definitely get your priorities straight. Christmas presents shouldn't even be on your list right now. I'm sure your family and friends will understand the situations you're going through and let it slide. You can always use public transportation temporarily until you get another job and get back on your feet. As for the car, I'm not really sure on that one. Is there anyone that can maybe loan you some money for the repairs? Best of luck to you.

I could easily say something bitchy just for the hell of it in response, but I'll hold my tongue. Two, do a search. There are threads/posts about people losing their job.

There's a reason my parents and I have two cars. Because one usable car doesn't cut it. My dad's car is in even worse shape than mine, his trans is going. Public transportation is okay, when you don't have dogs that have to go anywhere, and at the moment it's cheaper for me to drive to school, rather than take the trolley into 69th to take a bus.

Dad just found out he has prostate cancer (refuses to go to hospital)
Girlfriend just had surgery to remove cervical cancer cells
I don't have a job
I don't have money
I just got my car back after 2 months
I'm in college
I am so stressed out with all the huge tests every week
thats not even surfacing it...

personally I think you can get through it...

Sorry to hear about your dad. My relative is also dying of cancer that started in her bladder and has progressively spread in her abdomen and now her brain. She's in the hospital for pain management, but not treatment. Encourage your dad to go get treatment! Prostate cancer has an EXCELLENT recovery rate!!

I don't have money or a job either, so I totally feel ya on that.

I'm also in college and have finals, so again, I totally feel your pain. I hope finals aren't too rough on you.

I know I can get through it. I've had much worse experiences in my life. I just needed to vent yesterday, because everything has been snow balling. I didn't post everything bad that's going on because some stories aren't meant for TST. And hey if you're having a tough time, I hope stuff gets better for you.

Def try looking at craigslist or contact an employment agency like Allied or Manpower. They should be able to help you out.

You can probably get a job at a hospital. They are always hiring for different positions.
