window tinting

To get old window tint off of glass on side windows
1st. With a razor blade start a corner piece and pull gently until the tint begins to come off. Repeat this step for each window.
2nd. After all tint has been removed, you will need to spray the window with glass cleaner thoroughly and take a razor blade and scrap off the glue that remains. Repeat this step on all windows until all glue is gone.
REAR WINDOW REMOVAL: The best way to remove the film is with a water steamer. The steamer will loosen the glue and help with the film release. THIS IS NOT EASY.
1st. Pick a small place where you can get your razor blade under and lift the film.
2nd. Place the steamer as close to the portion of film you are removing and as the film releases it will pull on off.You will have to do this many times because the film tends to break.
3rd. After the film is off, you will need to wash the inside of the glass with a good cleaner to help get rid of the glue. You can also use a scotch pad to clean the window but be very careful around the defrost lines. Also, a multi purpose cleaner( like 409) will help remove the glue. THIS BACK WINDOW IS THE HARDEST ONE TO DO. TAKE YOUR TIME AND IT WILL WORK. One other thing, you can by a water based adhesive remover that sometimes will work at the auto paint or parts store.
