Sad to say that TriStateTuners will be going offline sometime around Oct. 15, 2024. After 20 years online, times have changed and its no secret that the forum's activity level has slowed to a crawl. Its been an incredible run with so many amazing friendships formed and community events held, plus all of the technical knowledge and entertainment shared online. I know I'm not the only one who has had both their personal and professional life impacted and improved significantly from this community, and I'm happy to have been a part of something so special. Thank you to so many people who volunteered to the community -- the entire moderating team, behind the scenes IT support, those who organized events, and everyone who contributed online to this unique local car community. I hope that many years after the prime of TST, many of you are still enjoying cars even if we are all "grown up" now. Please take the time to revisit your member journal and reminisce, or browse any other parts of the forum. Maybe reach out to an old friend or two and make plans to grab dinner and catch up. The timeline may change slightly but I wanted to get this notice up as quickly as possible to give everyone a bit of advance notice. Thanks for everything, TROLL

Ok so lately i've been reading up a little bit on it and apparently you don't need an anti-virus with it? I'm getting bored with my computer and i can't afford a new one just yet but i think i can push a lot more out of it even though its about 4 years old. how hard is it to install linux? if i backup my files on an external hd is everything going to transfer back over with no problems such as music, pictures, office files? are there compatibly issues with adobe cs package, ms office package? i'm don't game at all because i have a integrated graphics card but i'd like to just get more out of my 2.8 Pentium 4 with 2 gigs and seems like linux can help with that. so i'm just rambling, share your experience with it if you use it. __________________ -----Igor----- My To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
