Limited Tort / Full Tort
Just wondering what percentage of people on here are either full tort or limited tort.
If you don't know the difference: Limited Tort: If you get nailed by somebody else your right to recover money for bodily injury is limited to pretty much medical bills and out of pocket expenses for medication unless the injury is defined as serious. You will not be able to sue for pain and suffering unless you sustain a serious or permanent injury, which has been defined by the Pennsylvania Courts as a "serious impairment of a bodily function." Full Tort: With Full Tort, you can seek money for your pain and suffering for any injury you receive in an auto accident, provided that someone else is at fault for the accident. You do not have to worry about whether you have a serious injury. Choosing Full Tort on your policy instead of Limited Tort does cost a little more on your insurance premium, but it could mean thousands of dollars to you if you are ever injured in an auto accident I'm full tort and have been since I started driving. Basically for a small investment now you could potentially recover a lot more if you are involved in an automobile accident. |
