my 360 networking issue.

this is a long shot...

im trying to connect my 360, directly to my pc's ethernet card, to share the wifi connection (too cheap to buy a 360 wireless adapter).
im using a crossover cable, and i have a networking bridge setup.
windows firewall is disabled

when running the networking tests, everything passes, except the XBOXLIVE test. i get an IP, DNS, MTU ,etc...

i tried forwarding ports, and even disabling the firewall on my router. but no matter what i do, it always fails.

now, if i do the same exact thing on my laptop, it connects without any problems.

its almost like as if my pc's mac address is banned my xbl or something.
ive seen a few people report the same problem with their setup, but no one seems to ever know what the cause is.
