amplifier self protection
My amplifier has a self protection feature so it doesnt completely **** out on me. I was driving today and it just stopped, so when i got home i looked at it and its showing that the self protection is in effect. So, as most people know, this is because of a short in a lead or ground, ect. Well, i checked everything! I disconnected my speaker leads, then reset the amp. Did nothing, so i checked the ground. I disconnect the ground, sanded it down again, cleaned it off, checked both ends [including the terminal, terminal caps, ect.], i checked my subwoofer itself, and from what i can tell thats not blown, but the protection is still locked in place. Does anyone have any ideas?
BTW--i checked all three fuses [2 for channels, 1 for power..they are all good] The only other thing I think it could possibly be would be the power connection from the head unit...but usually if that shorts it just cuts power to the amp all together. Im confused. if you have any ideas please help..this is annoying me a lot.
