Infiniti G25 & G37 IPL Coupe

The G25 Sedan

A budget G series sedan, perhaps to go coupe? I sure hope not. But I guess infiniti had to make something a little more affordable. 110hp less then the G37 at 328. The G25 is a 2.5 liter VQ.... The VQ25 has been around for a while in Japan, and they decided to use it here.

Base price is about 30K, where a base G37 is 35.5K... Entry level at 30K

The G37 IPL (Infiniti Performance Line)

Pretty cool upgrade to the G37, but it could have been executed better. Lack of Brembo, and for a performance line I think they could have gotten more then 18HP out of the VQ37. Nice price tag on this, just cant see why.

348 Horsepower IPL G37 Coupe

Announced on August 12, 2010, Infiniti will be releasing a new performance initiative that is simply named "Infiniti Performance Line", or IPL for short. IPL will be similar to Nissan's NISMO initiative where manufactured-warrantied parts, as installed by dealerships, will be offered to the public along with low-production speciaty vehicles. This is not a new concept to Nissan as they have been releasing specialty vehicles in Japan for quite a number of years and have been offering NISMO-tuned offerings for the Nissan Z-series lineup as well. From an Infiniti perspective, the rumors have been true and it's now officially announced. Per Infiniti Vice President Ben Poore:

“IPL was conceived to create a new premium performance envelope, going beyond equipment upgrades to accelerate the very soul of Infiniti’s Inspired Performance, IPL brings all the elements together, styling harmonized with performance, exhaust note with acceleration feel, ride comfort and confident handling. It’s the perfect formula for unmatched driving exhilaration.”

With the announcement of the IPL offering, and a debut of the vehicle at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Infiniti will be offering a new tuned-performance G37 coupe starting in 2011.

2011 Infiniti G37 IPL Coupe Specification Overview

* IPL-tuned 3.7-liter DOHC 24-valve VQ37VHR V6
* 348 horsepower @ 7,400 rpm
* 276 lb-ft torque @ 5,200 rpm
* IPL-tuned high-flow dual exhaust
* IPL-tuned performance suspension with independent front double wishbone / independent rear multi-link, front and rear stabilizer bars
* 19-inch IPL split 7-spoke graphite-finish wheels (19x8.5” front / 19x9” rear)

* IPL aerodynamics with front and rear fascias, side sills and rear spoiler
* Unique IPL emblem
* IPL engine cover

The 2011 IPL G37 receives custom interior and exterior colors, changes to the spoilers, bumpers and side sills, custom split-7 rims, and spring rates are increased 20% front and 10% rear. Performance changes consist of engine management changes which increase maximum peak hp to 7400rpm vs 7000rpm, and peak torque was tuned for linearity. In addition, Infiniti changed the coupe exhaust layout to a ture-dual configuration utilizing a new y-pipe configuration which results in 30% less back pressure. Engine ECU changes with exhaust result in the final 348hp/267tq offering in 2011 which is +18hp/+6tq over the current G37 coupe.
