sr vs build n/a ka

ok , basically i want to build a weekend drift car that is still able to go for a cruise through the town. my platform will be a s13 hatch, now the real question is, what motor i will be using, the torquey ka the common sr the almighty rb, mabey a ca. after doing some reashearch for quite some time I realized what motor i want to use for my application.

Now, when people swap 240's or build them usally call for an sr240, which is usally the avg joe's weapon of choice, but why even go the sr route when you have a torquey strong motor already in the car. so i want to pull a ka and build it to be like stated earlier reliable/and capable enough to slide comfortably. and is also capable enough to hang with the avg joe on the street;track.

i've researched some ka24de all motor builds and came up with the following... to get around 180 hp on the ka24de most people had a set up containing ,intake, exhaust, cams, high compression pistons,(usally out of the sohc model, or the chrome altime pistons too), oh and a higher redline would be awsome too, I believe the kit crower sells for the ka is called the de-stroker kit? but i havent looked into to that to much just kinda heard about it. (it was also stated that a ka with 180 hp will run a 14 sec 1/4 mile) so thats somewhat of a referance to go buy)

now with the whole sr vs ka debate, hoinestly i'd rather go find someone who is sr shopping and snatch their ka from them for dirt cheap, and save a lot of cash as well.. plus no worying about swap related issues or anything like that.

so basically my debate is why wory about turbo related issues with an sr when you can keep the stock motor and make reliable n/a power. and spend your extra money on suspension and other goodies!
