Nissan 240sx
Ok im prolly gonna buy this guys, its a sr20 swapped turboed 240sx, absolutely no rust, 2 year old paint job, new brakes/rotors, rims/tires.
he wants 1750 for it, he flooded 2 cylinders and bent a rod, now this is my question, Are KA and SR turbo parts interchangable? I want to go all out with a KA24DE build and turbo it, my goal is 500-700 HP range. The car doesnt come with the downpipe or intercooler, he told me 1750 for car, and an extra 700 bucks should get it running again. I need some input i am new to jap cars... and are they easy to work on? |

some people who are starting out with a turbo KA use alot of SR parts to turbo their car (IC piping, elbow, downpipe, injectors) but if your looking for that much power ALOT of stuff is going to have to be custom so it doesnt really matter KA/SR.

LS1 swap + big cam + 75-100 shot of giggle gas = your power levels.

and the LS1 is lighter than the KA... for sure the best answer but not the most cost effective. since the car already had a SR20 in it wouldnt it make sense to put another one back in instead of reswapping to a KA. |

I wouldn't pay 1750 for no 240 that doesnt run especially a s13 unless it came with good parts (better come with that fmic and dp) and don't believe the no rust until you seen it with your own two eyes

The whole interior is stripped out and he is pretty repuatable on his forum, everyone vouches for him, My friend got a 240 and there were holes rusted through everywhere, even a huge chunk of frame, we just got done welding them closed.
As for the SR20, I'm truely thinking KA and parting out the SR20. And how much modification to make a LS1 fit? |

Check out http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/. They make kits to facilitate the ls1 swap. But as you might have guessed, there is still going to be some fabbing and modification necessary.

Yeah and if you wanna see what it looks like when you're done just check out my Member Journal. Just don't pay any mind to the wiring since the guy I got it from was a dumbass and tried to do it himself.

nothing wrong with that if you do it correctly! i think painless has a pretty nice wiring system for the LS1.. everything comes labeled and where it should go. really not a bad swap to do in theory. time consuming though!

Hinson & Daft Innovations sell complete wiring harnesses to match right up to the stock 240 harness. That's what I'll be looking for to correct the problems.

you are better off buying a shell with no motor in it if you are just going to put a ka back in it. there was a 240 for sale on craigslist for 400 with no motor. KA's are a dime a dozen. put a running one in and build a 2nd to go in after your done with it.

i agree with jspek a few of my friends did this and turned out to be a lot cheaper than buying a running 240 my one friend bought a shell for 300 and two ka's for 500 for a total of 800 and a extra motor he can build on the side
