What all is done to the Audi? I've always thought the TT would be an awesome platform to build.

thanks guys...sorry all the pics aren't as clear as they could be. I just don't have the money for one of those super cameras. The TT does have side exit exhaust. Not much performance wise has been done to it. Nothing big. But I think it's pret-ty pret-ty pret-ty good platform to build. I assume you know the engine can take power pretty good. And despite what others say, I've had no issues with the car that I didn't cause myself somehow. My only gripe with the TT now is that it's an old car, and the market for new products is withering.
anyway, performance wise I've got : Custom Charge Pipe Custom Side Exit Exhaust SMS Silicon Upper Turbo Pipes OC.T Intercooler Forge DV Relocation Kit APR R1 Diverter Valve Evoheatshield Phenolic Spacer Saikou Michi Catch Can Neuspeed P-Flo Intake Apex’I AVC-R Apex’I AFC Select Silicon Vacuum Tubing N249 Delete Diesel Geek Short Shifter Deka Lightweight battery Cross Pipe Delete Suspension Bilstein Sport Shocks H&R Race Springs Neuspeed 19mm Rear Sway Bar ECS Adj. Control Arms Work Emotion CR Kai 8.5 & 9.5 x 18 Falken 452 tires – 255 & 265/35 * 18 EBC Rotors EBC Red Stuff pads

why run an AVCR and SAFC instead of an APR or Giac or Revo tune?

Sounds like a track-built car. Do you race it anywhere in the northeast? And what's the deal with variable torque split with the Quattro system?

As for the quattro system on the TT, it's an electronically control clutch system. The car is basically fwd, although, all wheels are turned all the time. the power comes from the front. The front wheels are independent, but the rear are tied. Depending on engine torque or wheel slippage, the tq can be transferred to the rear. 10% difference in wheel rotation (45 degree rotation) from front to back will cause the system to kick in. High tq output from the engine also cause it engage, and steering angles are used in calculating it's engagement. Special Haldex unit can be purchased to change it's characteristics. Some make it engaged all the time, some make it engage faster or whatever, and there are even one computer hook that u can upload programs to the haldex which each have different characteristics for engagement. The stock haldex only engages for a short while, and this can be seen on AWD dynos. Looking at tq at all the wheel will show spikes from the rear as the clutch engages and disengages periodically. This also causes the front tires hp/tq to dip slows the engine. That is why some ppl disconnect the haldex for dyno...to make things smoother. On the street though, when the rear kick in, you'll never feel it, but because power to front is cut under the expectation they are slipping, and power sent to rear, it's possible to fish tail the rear...which I've done a couple times. sorry for the book... ![]() Quote:
