Can’t decide which rims to purchase for my car?

Hey guys I am having the HARDEST time trying to pick out a set of 17” rims for my Buick Regal. My car currently has a set of stock 16” rims that weight 25lbs each. I am looking to get a set of 17” rims that are much lighter then stock and as well wider so I can run some 245 tires on the car to upgrade over the stock 225 size. If anyone has a set of other 17" rims they could suggest to me go right ahead. My car can accept a 5x115 or 5x114.3 bolt pattern and ideally a 30 to 40 offset.

Currently my car has chrome rims and I think I would like to stick with a set of chrome or high-polished rims. Everyone however keeps telling me to get black rims so I have the black on black look. I have seen a few of my black Regal’s with black rims which does look good, however I just have a thing for chrome rims.

Here is what my car looks like right now with the stock rims:

So I have picked out a few rims that I am interested in however I can’t figure out which ones to go with. I am setting up a vote to see which ones you guys think I should go with?

1.) Centerline Storm 17x7” Chrome or High-Polished: I was the most interested in these rims however the price for these rims are though the roof!

2.) Liquid Metal Motorsports Static 17x7 Chrome: These most likely will be the rims I will get for my car because I could get the best deal price wise on these rims.

3.) TSW Vortex 17x8 Chrome: These were the first set of rims I looked into for my regal. However they are hard to come across and cost as much as the Centerline rims but weight more most likely.

4.) TSW Asan 5 17x8 Gunmetal: These are the only gunmetal color rims I like. I think the red stripe is pretty cool and possibly the black with the red strip on the rim be a nice offset?

5.) TSW Trackstar 5 17x8 Black: Only black rims I consider getting for my car. The red strip is pretty cool however I am not sure if those rims would look right on my domestic car?

I'm not sure, personally your car has such the sleeper granny look to it, and it's already on chrome. I would switch to the dark side. a black wheel will get a different look than a chrome will.IMO I like the black wheel...good luck

Yeah the Centerlines were my first choice. However the "best" deal I can get for those rims are $900ish shipped without tires. Add some tires and I am clearly looking at $1,300 range for rims+tires. They are forged rims and are made or order so you pay to play. For a 17" chrome wheel however they only weight 15lbs each! That's 10lbs less then my stock 16" rims. I think the Liquid Metal rims would only cost around the $600 range shipped.

the centerlines are nice but paying that much to only get a 7" wide wheel kind of sucks.

Yes you are right. When I called Centerline they told me that those 17" rims in polished were $260 a piece before shipping. They also said it take like 6+ weeks to get them made and shipped out. Reason I think I am just going to go with Option #2 in my list.

that picture above kind of made me take my statement back

if they were 17X8 that'd be awesome. they do look really good.

Here are some pictures of Regals with upgraded rims. Love the look of larger tires/rims on these cars.

Regal with 17" Centerline rims I like

17" Polished wheels

18" or 19" Silver wheels

18" Black Wheels with red lip

done deal for me right there! still "sleeper/granny-ish" with a touch of class. black rims on that car would = ricey! keep the chrome... PLUS, if you drop 40lb's (10-ish per rim) you will notice a pretty nice difference in performance.

the TSW's look similar so I say do them. I think the centerlines look hideous on that black regal IMO.

Oh yes... it has already been done before. Do you guys think I should go with 20"+ rims instead... be snapping axles all the time lol. The only good thing about having massive rims like these is you can pretty much walk under the car.

First 97.5-04 Regal GS with 26's... ballin!
