Pretty interesting, didn't really know Porsche had funds like that. Not really sure what it means, if anything. But maybe more technology sharing..who knows?

I read somewhere that Porsche makes an average of $20K per car... BMW around $5K...

Porsche is one of those companies like Ferrari and Lamborghini. They sell their cars for way more than what it cost to make so they are high profit car companies.
Now that Porsche owns VW, they also own what VW owns.-Audi, Skoda, Seat, Bently, Bugatti, Lamborghini. And small shares in Spyker and Gumpert.

doesnt make me like vw's any more.. for some reason i have a feeling ill hate them more as the typical hangout will have some kid telling me his car is cool because porsche made it. even though its a 92.

I'm sure somewhere theres VW guys jerkin eash other off talking about how "of course Porsche bought part VW, they see how amazing our cars are and want in".

(OF COURSE not all VW owners think like that but unfortunatly I've come across way to many that do.)

Well Porsche and VW were both started by the same person. Ferdinand Porsche. He designed the Beetle in the 1930's.

woah...guys, porsche is in that deal for themselves...There's not going to make VW better! That's why the take over was hostile. if you haven't read, VW was one of the few car companies that didn't tank or take big losses during the economic downturn, along with audi. Porsche wants in on a company that promising. Porsche buys parts from Audi/VW but will never allow parts from the porsche bin to go the other way. That would bring the value and huge margins that they make off each car down, as someone else already pointed out. Porsche is planning to use the new engines and technology that audi has developed already, to basically cut cost, especially development cost cause they wouldn't have developed the engine and therefore increase their margins even more. I think it was no more than a few months after this info came out that a announcement was made by porsche that they would be using the V6 Q7 (i think, it could have been the TDI) engine in their upcoming Cayanne Models...
I like porsche, but this isn't gonna do anything for anyone other than porsche.
