When you go to boot up from his hard drive you get a blue screen and then thats it. So where trying to connect his hard drive to my motherboard as a slave, but nothing comes up it doesnt even recognize it and i've already messed with the little white jumper. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Also, did you go into your BIOS and let your computer know it has another drive attached?

its fairly simple but sometimes little things make it a complicated process. go to best buy and buy a external usb enclosure, use it for what you need then return it, should make things a whole lot easier for you
just my two cents if its being a pita for ya..

it could be a filesystem problem.... i have ontracks data recovery suite. i have recovered data in the raw before. if you want you can drive the thing over and i can help you if you bring like 20 bucks.
if not then use a usb enclosure to rule out the possibility of a bad jumper setting or bad controller. run chkdsk /f /R (driveletter) to check the FS. |
