You're the first person I've ever seen, in person or on the internet, that wants to get into this field.

I manage/oversee the procurement team at a gauge/instrumentation company at the Lancaster, PA facility. We also have plants in Barcelona (Spain), Juarez (Mexico), and Taicang (China). We design & build instrument clusters, gauges, & fuel senders to companies like Harley Davidson, John Deere, CAT, Subaru, BMW/Mini, Case, Ingersoll Rand, AM General, and a bunch more.

A few pics of our facility (I took these on Friday).


This unit simulates fuel sloshing in a fuel tank, used to test accuracy and reliability to mimic how are units are used in the field (mines, farms, construction sites, etc).



Salt/fog chamber to test against corrosion; UV chamber to test paint fading on dials & pointers, or various platings on bezels.



Some of our products are designed to be environmentally sealed, so this chamber is used to test for dust/sand/moisture/etc



New production cell for an upcoming CAT cluster program, launching in 2 months



One of our SMT lines; we build about 80% of our own circuit assemblies, with the remaining 20% built in India and China.


Selective solder machine



automatic gauge line - this unit, with 2 associates, can do the same amount of work as 8 associates that do it manually



in-house molding operation


The area where Stewart Warner Performance gauges and accessories are built, about 200 feet from my office



Production cell where the 5" Harley tach-speedo gauges are built.

No college degree, no certifications, gotta love the computer field. Otherwise I'd still be in school and utterly poor.

I work freelance promotional work, pickup temp work when promotional season is slow and also I donate plasma. I make enough to pay my bills but I also live a pretty cheap lifestyle and save a lot of money. I'm trying to get a full time job and something a little more steady with benefits so i'm not always searching for work..

ARB air lockers for GM 14 bolt/Dana 60 set up with 4.56 gears will be first on my list....
