Arkady's 05 LGT ..... Canibeat feature, sold, goodbye.

I ended up being very upside on the lease on my Impreza. Thus I traded it in, took a hit on trade in but thus saved myself about 3000. Ended up getting an 05 Legacy GT. Car has 35k on it, its pre-owned certified until 2011/100k , I payed an extra $500 and now have bumper to bumper until 2011/100k. Its Obsidian Black Pearl which wasnt my first choice since Subaru paint especially black is crap but I can live with it. Tan interior, again not first choice I would have prefered black but I can live with it.

The car came with the STI short throw, momo knob and STI pedals. All factory Subaru options.

So far I've only done tint, debage and tinting of the tails otherwise its bone stock.

Current plans:
1.It needs new front struts, getting them done this Friday.
2.Going to Verocious on Tuesday to get a baseline dyno before I got see Ray for Stage 1.
3.Will probably do S-techs on it for now, I dont feel like spending money for coilovers especially when the season is almost over.
4. Maybe do the basic bolt-ons, nothing too serious, up/down pipe, maybe exhaust.
5. I miss my carpc thus carpc is the main thing to get done ala my impreza.

I second that, Joes car had them for maybe 2 months before the rears started leaking, Coilovers is where its at on a legacy. If not we have a set of GR-2s that may fit your car.

do coil overs or H techs, H techs will get you a lil bit longer life out of your struts than the s techs

Bought, 18k pre owned certified, $500 to extend that to bumper and bumper, plus gap plus taxes about 20k out the door.

I had H-techs on my Impreza, I thought about S-techs just because they were dirt cheap used. I'd honestly only need them to last me till February and at that point I would get coilovers. I can buy coils now but I'd rather do a few bolt on's first and do the carpc. But I guess if S-techs are just as ****ty as they were on the Impezas then I'll do H-techs for the time being.

How long did your S-techs last? How do you like the Basics? I'm planning to do the BC Racings, I think that group buy is still going on for the BC Racing coils and GTspec front and rear strut bars for like 1000 shipped.

Let me know about the GR-2's, its going to cost me $100 to get the fronts replaced, but if I can get a used set of aftermarket struts and springs or even coils then I'd jump on it depending on price.

Yeah my Impreza H-techs lasted like 40k+. Is there any medium between lets say the S-techs and the H-techs. Like I said I need my stock struts to last me 5-6 months tops, and come early springs I'll buy coils.

the best set of springs you could get for your car is the STi pinks. I'm not sure if Tanabe offers springs for the LGT but if they do I would go for them also.

I'll talk to Susie about her GR-2s, I'm almost positive they will work in the newer Legacies. We just haven't been able to find time to put them in her car and her struts and car only have 22k on them and more than half of that is on a whiteline/STi Pink combo.

if bc's are the same as megan racing, then i'd stay away from them. i had megan racing street coilovers before, and i blew 3 pillowball mounts in 1500 miles, which they said is normal? although they did send me new ones for free, i didn't want to be replacing them every other month. i may be wrong, but i think bc's are almost identical to the megans, so quality may be an issue there.

i love the basic coilovers. they are on my car only to eliminate wheel gap, and do that very well. as far as ride quality, they are so so, and perform well in the corners. as for tracking the car, i never have, so i can't speak for them there.

whatever you do, jump on legacygt.com before you make your decision, there is some valuable info on there, and used suspension is always in the market place section.

hope that helps.

Went to Verocious today for a bone stock base line:

213/228, matches up with what other cars put down stock, so thats good.
Planning to make an appointment with Ray as soon as my front struts are replaced.

The car seems to be modding itself, I replaced the front pads with Endless SS-M pads and found out that the car already has Goodridge SS brake lines to match the DBA4000 front rotors. Then checked the condition of my LCA's which are torn to **** and saw that I have an adjustable Whiteline swaybizzy in the front. Free rice for the win.

Picked up these bad boys from JSC Speed today, going to press 'em in this weekend.

I agree with Joe, stay away from BC and Megan Racing. Im fighting with 2 blown pillowball mounts on the "track" coilovers and they wont give me new ones. Also since the mounts are beat it suffers from major coil binding.

The TEINs are awesome on Joes car, I drove it not that long ago with them. I believe they cost less to, you just have less adjustablity

Hmm, I'm pretty sure BC is different from Megan Racing, maybe someone else can shine some light on it. Regardless winter is coming and theres no point to do neither coilovers nor springs now. I will probably do sways, and a few other suspension things in the meantime. But yeah friend has Basic's on his CL, although you can not adjust damping, only ride height, the car drove very well with them.

I think I've made up my mind and will do Tein Flex's, I've only heard great things about them. And Advan 151C Connoisseur Wheels , only question is leave a decent ride on 18's or do it big and do 19's?

As seen on Arith's car:

Plans for the next 2 months:
Cusco sways, strut bars and braces.
Carpc
Downpipe and have Ray tune it for stage 2.
Grill, since the stock chrome one is an eye sore. Clear out the headlights and maybe do the eyelids.

You are correct! The BC Racing are a higher end version.

Also had the clear section cut out on the tails, IMO it looks much better than before, mainly because at night it looked like the back end of a Passat.

And I bought this last week, since that Live.com 30% off was going on. I wasn't planning to bother with the intake, but a week prior I met a kid with an automatic 05 LGT, and after Andy@ Verocious pro-tuned his accessport he made 240/260 which is damn nice , especially for just a reflash and his car being auto. I'm hoping Ray's tune will put me over those numbers.

Picked up a grill, fits decent, looks better than stock and it was cheap and came pre-painted.

Sold the SPT intake because it was gay.

I bought the jdm 2 double din panel, lower info relocation panel, Liliput 7" touchscreen lcd, intel atom mobo and a nice aluminum case. Thus I'm starting the carpc project this week, with the molding off the liliput into the bezel. All I need now is the hack for the stock headunit to do aux in, stick of ram and a laptop hard drive.

Also doing the AVO offset Lower control arm bushings.

Nah BC is the manufacturer of Megans Coilovers. I would do 18s, 19s are too big IMHO. Joes car looked friggin sick with the 18in Work Emotion Kai. But you have to be careful of the width and offset because they dont give you much room inside
