i wonder what really happened. we'll probably never know the full story. A cop doesn't just do something like that in front of that many people for no reason at all.

the cop says that the rider swerved into him, but as you can see with no side-step the cop was able to shoulder the cyclist from the right side. if he swerved towards him wouldnt the officer have to step back to get beside him?

I tell you what, if I was biking there behind the guy who was hit, I would have railed that cop full speed.

just imagine all the **** that goes down and isnt caught on video. cops are no more trust worthy than anyone else. i hate how their word is taken more seriously in court than a defendant's. and i bet if that guy went to court for whatever the cop charged him with, the cop would never have been disciplined if it wasnt caught on video.

im gonna start walking around with a video camera strapped to my dome

how was it unprofessional? we don't know why he did it... we don't know what the cyclist had done to get tackled like that. thats the whole point. people are crying foul and we don't know why any of this happened.

If the tackle was unprovoked, then yes it was unprofessional.

even if it wasnt un-provoked there are more appropriate ways to remove a rider from their bike than a shoulder check. the rider posed no immediate threat to the officer yet the officer was very violent with him.

he did it because hes pissed off he has to deal with annoying things like this each month, when they should just let them go ride, they are doing nothing illegal

just because you say so, doesn't mean the cop did it because of that reason. We don't know for sure that the guy on the bike didn't do something illegal. And there were other bikers in the are, tons of them... passing him... why did he decide to check this specific guy?

we'll never know because everyone wants blood because of a short clip that has probably been taken out of context.

I'm not for or against the cop here. But I'm not judging the situation b/c I don't know the full situation

so if you were street racing and the cop pull you out of your car and gave you a bodycheck, that would be okay?

no it isnt. there is plenty that you're obviously overlooking.

it doesnt matter what happened, thats not how you that handle a situation. i dont see him before doing anything to get in front of the guy or tell him to stop.

if it was provoked he could have easily stopped in a nicer way. hell, even having a gun drawn and telling him to stop would have been more civil and would have not been an assault.

they treated OJ better when he killed two bitches.
